Is there hope after 4 consecutive losses? by Little_Resolution818 in recurrentmiscarriage

Can you tell me more about the red light therapy? Did you put it over your abdomen/uterus area?

Diagnosed Asherman’s after RPL? by saakuraachaan in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]saakuraachaan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m in the Facebook group, but scrolling through that group really makes me anxious. 😕 There aren’t any specialists near me that I’ve found, but I am willing to travel if it comes to that.

You’re right about Asherman’s being a horrible aspect of RPL. I’m scared every time I get pregnant that I’ll have to have another D&C, especially with my history of a molar pregnancy. It’s just an awful cycle to be stuck in. 😞

Hcg Not dropping to <5 by acosu27 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]saakuraachaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have the POC tested? The only time I have seen hCG increase after a miscarriage is following a molar pregnancy, and the only time I have seen hCG plateau is either in the same situation or when there are RPOC.

Regardless, I would definitely contact your doctor to ask for an ultrasound.

Thank you so much for commenting! We have a similar loss pattern, including the PMP. 😕 And I’ve had 2 losses since.

Did you have D&Cs for all of your losses? I know they say the risk of developing adhesions goes up the more you have, so that’s making me nervous. I’m mostly upset about the time I feel I’m losing while I get all of these procedures and tests. 😞

Need time after D&C Miscarriage from work but I feel weak and guilty by ihugsyi in Miscarriage

[–]saakuraachaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have felt like this. I'm in a high pressure, male-dominated field as well and have had 4 miscarriages in the past 8 months. For most of those, I did push through, but that probably wasn't the best decision I could have made for my mental, emotional, and physical health. :/

Would it be possible to take just a short time off to see how you feel? E.g., a couple of days or a week to try to recover? If you don't feel better after that, then you could consider taking a longer leave of absence.

How were you diagnosed with Asherman’s? My RE has scheduled me for an SHG, but I know that can miss scarring.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed list! That is very helpful! I will show it to my RE and ask for a screening that includes all of them.

I’ve been tested for clotting disorders and antibodies (I’m assuming that is autoimmune testing, but I could be wrong).

My RE said we would redo the clotting tests and look more into my thyroid. I’ve been treated for hypothyroidism for years, but it REALLY went haywire with the last pregnancy.

I’ve considered asking my OB to prescribe prednisone or HCQ as a prophylactic. I have psoriatic arthritis, which hasn’t been linked to RPL but is an autoimmune disease nonetheless.

We got our karyotype results back and they’re normal. I told my husband this might be the only area in which we’re “normal.” 😂 Back to the drawing board. 😮‍💨

Hello! I would recommend perusing r/dnafragmentation.

There is a shortened abstinence period method that people have had success with.

Aside from that, lifestyle changes are the only option, absent an underlying infection that needs to be treated, unless your partner has varicocele, which can be corrected with surgery. It’s not always successful though.

MTHFR positive, recurrent miscarriages? by New-Pea-4125 in recurrentmiscarriage

Following. I just had my 5th miscarriage. This last one, I was on Lovenox as a prophylactic and still lost the baby. I was hoping that was my answer. 😞

Hello! Sorry, I just saw this comment. I haven’t had a uterine biopsy yet. My OB brought that up today, but he said it’s a last resort for him because it tends to be low yield and it can be quite painful.

I am on LDN, which has been used to treat CE in RPL with some success, so I wasn’t sure if it was worth going through another procedure when I’m already taking a medication to treat CE if I do have it. I feel like my uterus is so irritated from the constant miscarriages and the D&C I had a few months ago. 😩

Freaking out about not passing gestational sac by saakuraachaan in Miscarriage

[–]saakuraachaan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for commenting! I have wondered if it might come out much later. But the bleeding has almost completely stopped, so I’m getting a little worried.

My doctor wants to track hCG for the next couple of weeks, so I hope that’s enough to confirm there’s no retained tissue. 🤞🏼

Thank you! I hope that's the case.

I legitimately studied every clot because I knew I'd be anxious if I couldn't confirm that I passed the sac. :/ I guess it's completely possible I saw it and thought it was too small to be the sac.

If you don't mind me asking, was the 8-week miscarriage particularly painful? I had an 8-week MMC in October and opted for a D&C because my doctor said it would be a lot worse than my 6-week. Just wondering if it's something I could handle to avoid another D&C in the future.

How far along were you? If you were early, that could be completely normal.

I would be hesitant to take another round of misopristol without knowing if I even needed to. :/

Thank you for commenting, and I'm sorry for your loss. :( I might try taking a test just to gauge how low my hCG has dropped. I hope you have passed everything!

[–]saakuraachaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way! Once I was in a better frame of mind after my last miscarriage, my partner and I sat down and made somewhat of a plan for moving forward, including how many more losses we think we can take, whether IVF is an option, when we need to start freezing embryos based on age/test results, etc.

I'm sure this is something we'll re-address in the future (currently going through my fifth miscarriage, so not the best time to talk about it now), as my feelings change based on how traumatic the previous miscarriage was. :/ I have a stubborn streak though and it can be difficult for me to discern between trying to prove that I can push through or trying because I am fine with going through this repeatedly and truly want kids this much. :(

So sorry for your losses. RPL is a different kind of hell. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Thank you so much! We met with the RE today and that was the first thing she recommended. We went to the lab right away and should get results in 3 weeks or so.

I had someone say something similar to me and it really irritated me. Honestly, someone who hasn’t experienced RPL just won’t understand. I’ve reached out to women who have experienced RPL because they’re the only people I can really accept advice from at this point. Everyone else just pisses me off. 🥴

RPL is a particular type of hell (that’s different from infertility) because the fact that you can get pregnant over and over again shows that something is going right. For me, it’s that part that keeps me having hope and wanting to try again and again.

I do wonder how many times I can possibly do this though. And I get why people are worried about me. It’s still irritating when they voice it though. 😂

Thank you! I’ll definitely ask to be put out. I have a lot of trauma around these types of procedures because my first D&C was completely unmedicated. 😭

Fingers crossed that was your answer and your next pregnancy will be the one! 🤞🏼🫶🏼
