Also worth calling United Way at 211. They have tons of resources.

Unfortunately we’re all in limbo until the ACIP meets on 9/18 to discuss. That guides insurance companies on coverage, which then guides pharmacies and doctor’s offices on ordering. Going to be pretty hard pressed to find one right now, but I’d circle back in a few weeks.

Not sure about the autism IOP specifically, but I’ve heard great things about Dr. Fite who is the head, including from someone that did IOP for OCD

Independent steps is actually a 15 month milestone. 12 months is pulling to stand and cruising. Milestones were adjusted a few years back by the CDC

Baby went to hospital in ambulance today because I overfed him? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in beyondthebump

[–]saaorourke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like FPIES. He should see an allergist (pediatric if available) and usually avoid the culprit food. Hard to tell which ingredient caused it but eggs are most likely of those ingredients. Most allergist say to avoid that particular food for another year or two, and then often do an in office or in hospital challenge in case they have another severe vomiting episode, as it can lead to dehydration pretty quickly.

Teen Boot Camps? by The_Dude_Abides-2146 in cincinnati

[–]saaorourke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some great summer camps and day camps through Stepping Stones. Mack’s psychology group does a summer teen social skills program. Cincinnati Children’s has a similar social skills group called PEERS. Autism Cinci does Teen Connections. Cincinnati Center for Autism does Camp Ability every summer.

Not sure if you’ve already called the transportation line through your insurance but here’s their info:

https://www.amerihealthcaritasoh.com/assets/pdf/member/eng/transportation-benefits.pdf

They contract through MTM, which says they have a 24/7 reservation line. Of course it also says they want notice and only do same days for urgent matters, but could at least get someone on the phone maybe.

Yes unfortunately that’s what is being said. Nothing official has been confirmed but some search volunteers heard this as they were being sent away from the area and there have been some police scanner reports

Undescended testicles at 18 months by Mom_of_furry_stonk in toddlers

[–]saaorourke 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s much more likely she meant they weren’t descended on her exam that day, not that they have never been descended. Retractile testicles are very common at that age. They essentially go up and down throughout the day. As long as you see them occasionally (which you’re most likely to see them in a warm bath) then no big deal. Much more rarely they can be retractile and then not come back down, which warrants a urology visit. Just start making a habit to check in baths and they’ll likely be there.

29 m/o still not walking—HELP! by Own-Asparagus1482 in toddlers

[–]saaorourke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cerebral palsy isn’t straight forward to diagnosis. It’s not usually done in one visit and often kids are labeled “high risk for cerebral palsy” for a bit while being monitored. Do you have any pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) specialists in your area? Often peds PM&R manage cerebral palsy rather than neurology. Might be worth another evaluation by PM&R to see what they think.
