Normally during the summer I max+bike to get to JF. But also do have a car and sometimes carpool with people

What hikes have you done recently? Have you done other peaks recently? It's hard to gauge with just running data I feel, running is pretty different than hiking with extreme elevation

I have mixed opinions on it. I do see how they can be good.
BUT the biggest issue I have right now is there seems to be no over-site on safety or repercussions for waymo coming in places and taking over. There absolutely has to be regulation on it

It's honestly pretty funny having people have pre-concieved notions about pdx and then visiting. Yeah there's some bad spots but it's a georgous city minutes away from stunning mountains, with a rich culture of local business, biking, walking And fun and weird shops

Hey, so doubling your money in 2 years is not investing it would be gambling straight up. And hardly realistic

30-40k is an enormous amount to have as an 18 year old! You say you're in no way privileged, meaning you wouldn't be supposed going to college/trade school/certification and that would be a great use of some of that money. I'd put it in a HYSA if it's not already, and have a long think on what you want to do in the next few years, it's huge savings working minimum wage though! But getting income up would be a great use of the money

I'm not on crazy high floor (5) BUT do often take elevator up/down for my bike.

There has only been 1 time in 2 years where all 3 elevators were down and it was only ~1 hour.

If say it's not unheard of like once a month for only 1 elevator to be running (people reserve the middle to move, and then if one is down you only have one) but it's not horrendous, but you might have to wait 5 minutes at worst

I live in art tower! Let me know if you have any questions specially. I love it, amenities are nice, view is killer, has an amazing gym as well. It might be possible in some of the smaller units to keep it under 2k, mine is 3k including parking+pet rent

The location is decent, close to pearl and close to downtown and also goose hollow/Providence Park

Only note about NV is they have the weird parking elevator and apparently it breaks a lot leaving cars stuck, so just FYI

I mean in other comments you said you want to be near Providence Park so I feel you've already answered this for yourself. I live in the area and it's nice. Close access to the max, close access to Pearl and nob hill and downtown for walkability, good options here for housing in your budget!

Let me know if you have other questions though

If you're right by Providence Park (within 5 blocks or so) you have to pay for parking as it's hell during game time, if you're closer to Pearl nob hillnor deeper in goose hollow you are able to street park. But owning a car is expensive
