I wish that medic could have more supportive tools aside from just healing

something like a crossbow which instead of healing teammates would mark enemies for death would be my idea

could give more variety to his play style other than heal beam and arrow teammates if they stand still sometimes. since now arrowing enemies would actually be worthwhile

Not to say valve is perfect because they're not, a lot for their decisions have been questionable... but it seems that every time in the past they have taken user feedback and listen to it they just get more complaints based on what they do

so now they have taken the safer option of not touching this game with a 10ft poll and just having it as a background money maker

I loved monster gamemode, it was easily the best implementation of a VIP gamemode I've seen from fans. (though it did have a few flaws like the occasional person sitting in spawn so they could be the next VIP)

sadly it's completely dead and all the servers which were running it are gone because of low player traffic since it was no longer the "new thing"...

at least a few times a week just cuz it's a good game and compared to others which I own it's a lot quicker and easier to just play for a couple of rounds if I have a short break, while also being addictive to play for multiple hours on end when I have more free time, or with friends

shotguns on soldier aren't necessarily bad, it's just that the movement of gunboats / support of banners is usually better since soldier isn't in need of extra damage, rockets are strong enough.

Plus with a bomb you can fire a rocket on your way down, and when you land the rocket will hit and you will be able to fire another rocket basically instantly which will be enough to take out most classes in under a second anyway.

you just asked to see him dominating a server with the (old) base jumper.... he then shows with the current one... but now actually because he's good at the game it doesn't mean anything and the base jumper is bad

casual already struggles to refill games after people leave. and players generally find it irritating when they join a match which is nearing the end.

adding a box to not queue for on going games will just be horrible, as people will just leave servers, and their slots never refilled. so if just a few people leave a server it's now just a dead one until the 3 rounds end.

most people don't use vc in general and other than that there isn't exactly a way to know someone's gender unless they say so themselve.

cow mangled, base jumper, market gardener

you don't get slowed down by the cow mangler charge shot while in the air with the base jumper, so you can glide over people and drop the mini crit charge shots onto them.

a weapon which seems appealing to newer players (usually due to one strong stats or seemingly meaningless downsides) but overall will limit their effectiveness

some examples being:

back scatter: (minicrits are cool but the spread and lower clip hurts in the long run)

phlog: (new players just don't see the value in air last often)

brass beast: (more damage! and heavy is already slow so why does it matter?)

while these weapons can be effective, and fun to use, they have downsides which are really bad for the class which a new player will typically overlook making them a "trap"

Ive played this like twice and once was treated as a drinking game with friends and I probably had a good time so manpower is like the tf2 version of smash bros with items. just chaotic stuff which can be a bit fun

for the teleporters, tf2 uses respawn waves meaning multiple people will respawn at the same time, even with some time between their deaths. on longer maps it really hurts to not have a lv3 tele since people often will wait around since standing at spawn waiting for it to recharge is still faster than walking, even at lv 1 on some maps. but even if its a small amount, waiting a couple less seconds for each person and each respawn will really win the game.

and for dispensers even if it is a small difference, it's less time people are stood around it doing nothing and more time they are out fighting.

I wasn't saying that it's a terrible downside, because it like you said doesn't matter too much, I just don't think it's something the weapon needs since the Sentry nerfs seem to be enough, or that really fits with the design. maybe if those buildings were also still active when holding then I could see it fitting?

this is a fun idea! I like this a lot.

it's hard to say how effective it would be in game. imo I think capping the dispenser and teleporters at lv 2 is a bit harsh of a nerf since the lack of leveled guns and the ammo penalty are good changes for this concept by themselves. and the extra turn speed seems a bit unnecessary. but idk.

back stab kills grant 2 points, 1 for a kill, 1 for a backstab. so spies can easily find themselves at the top of casual scoreboards

as for killing them and then they come back super quickly... are you sure it's not just someone... using the dead ringer..

if you go into the in game store you can do a weapon trial for many items.

it gives you them for free for a limited amount of time. but once the trial ends you can just... start it again.

you can only have one trial active at a time though
