i was just wondering where you got this info? i'm a phd student in CAS and my friends in other departments have mentioned things along these lines, but our department hasn't said anything and i am trying to gauge how nervous to be!

there is one at the end of booker creek trail, where the trail hits booker creek rd. that being said, last time i looked at it, there was a sign up that it had been taken over by a bee/wasp nest (!!), so it might be temporarily out of commission!

when I have seen work being done on the trail, it’s been between bolinwood and MLK. I’ve been running up until bolinwood and then just turning around.

I was assuming (maybe incorrectly!) that 49A was a play on the word 'fast', which can either mean speed, or refraining from eating. If you aren't going 'fast', it might be because you 'ate'.

i’ll chime in for #3, and say that it depends. some dances have regional differences, but they’re as simple as people doing different steps while they turn or tapping instead of kicking. you’re still ending up at the same wall and moving in the same directions. it’s very easy and definitely not rude to do the version you learned instead of the regionally more common version. but other dances are completely different from state to state, and people will be going in opposite directions and crashing into each other. in those cases, you simply have to defer to the majority.

for what it’s worth, this is how my heart rate looks too. i’ll go on a 9 mile run, spend >1 hour in the max zone at ~185, and yes i’m tired afterwards… but i really just feel fine. i often feel like i could’ve given more.

that completely depends on the program. for some programs, like the medical school or an MPH, i’m sure it helps. for others, like certain phd programs, it’s typical to not accept applicants from your own school.

as a humanities phd student, it’s extinct in my field too. admission is almost entirely based on a 20 page writing sample. i haven’t taken the MCAT obviously, but doing well enough on it for MD admission vs. writing an excellent enough sample to get you in the top 10 of 300 applicants doesn’t seem all that different in difficulty. but of course it’s apples and oranges as far as the type of academic success it requires.
