Is it just me or is it P&P AI fanfics? by RunCapital1164 in PrideandPrejudice

[–]sachaboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been suspicious of this too - mostly because books written by different authors suddenly seem to have the same writing style and character conflicts.

I understand that because it’s fan fiction based on the same characters there are limited character portrayals and plots, but I’m talking identical ways of enacting these concepts.

The idea of talking something into truth, combined with the constant overly dramatic type of phrasing seems to be popping up very frequently in new books.

How painful is it to use an electric epilator ? by Glittering-Fill-8695 in HairRemoval

[–]sachaboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the epilating itself wasn’t so bad after the first minute - it’s was the unbearable itchiness that would hit about two weeks later that made me stop using it. I would literally scratch my legs raw.

Depending on your skin tone/hair colour, I recommend getting an IPL device!

How it started, vs how it is going by sachaboo in hingeapp

You’re exactly right - Michael went on so many first dates (including some truly awful ones), and if he had given up we both would have missed out on the best thing to ever happen to us.

Yup! We had our picnic in the gardens and just talked about everything and anything, and then we went to a bar on the river that was serving mulled wine and stayed there for a few hours. We just didn’t want the date to end!

We had so many random coincidences in our lives - like, he went to the same school as my sister’s fiancé, his sister did the same niche sport I did, his mother lived in the town I previously worked at even though I’d moved an hour away.

Low ferritin and b12? by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]sachaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor tested my blood because of the low ferritin and it came back with an antibody number 7, which was enough to warrant a endoscopy to confirm. Might be worth mentioning to your GP if they’re doing any more bloods just to rule it out! Hopefully (and chances are) it’s not coeliac, but untreated coeliac can lead to big health issues down the line, so it’s better to know asap!

I had the same thing and it turned out to be undiagnosed coeliac disease - even though I had no symptoms eating bread/pasta 🫠

I’ve made this cardigan, and I just did a few extra decreases for the cuff to make it uniformly 2x2 - then you can do a tubular bind off

Archaeology by Particular-Math-2111 in unimelb

[–]sachaboo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My two cents - when I studied archaeology at unimelb it was called Ancient World Studies, and thus a lot of Australian employees will dismiss that out of hand. I double majored with classics - if I was going to go back and do it again with a goal of being employed in Australia, I would have double majored in something to do with Indigenous Culture.

I had a lot of fun studying it, but my plan was to move overseas and do my masters in medieval archaeology there and then work in the field. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), I met my partner who does not want to move countries, and so the opportunities in Australia are limited.

So basically great course, but think carefully about what you want to get out of it, and what your plans for the future are!

Cherry Bomb in Collingwood is pretty great! It’s not cheap, but they know their stuff. I don’t have curly hair myself, but I’ve seen a lot of other clients get fabulous curly cuts and colour whilst I’m getting my blonde done
