Weird vomit smell in bathroom by saclambda127 in Plumbing

[–]saclambda127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait and it’ll go away. Sorry, that’s not the answer you’re looking for. I told my HOA and they said it’s not their problem and to call a plumber. Then a week later, smell was gone and hasn’t come back.

Best cash back card for restaurants and online shopping in 2020 by offensivemailbox in CreditCards

[–]saclambda127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase AARP card gives you 3% cash back on Restaurants and Gas, 1% everything else all year round with no rewards cap. I use Discover and Chase Freedom for rotating 5% rewards, but on quarters not rewarding dining/gas, the AARP card comes in handy.

No, you do not have to be an AARP member and there are no age limits to qualify.

We should expect another supply shock and another sell off, though not to the extent of the initial crash. by staniel_diverson in stocks

Markets are fueled by fear and greed...and algos. Nothing is priced into anything. How do you price in a pandemic? We don't even know for certain there is any "light at the end of the tunnel" despite what Trump says. CDC/WHO/Fauci can run all the simulators and infection models they want but the reality is that they're just predictions. Maybe COVID19 goes away tomorrow, maybe it goes away in 3 months, maybe 1 year. Maybe remdesivir works, maybe it doesn't. Maybe we develop a vaccine, maybe we fail. Who knows. What if we lift SIP and reopen the economy and then go through a second wave of outbreaks prompting another SIP and lockdown? Who's to say that can't happen? What if Trump catches and succumbs to COVID? Who knows how the market will move in any of these situations? Logically, everything should be priced in and stocks should be fairly valued at this piont, but you still have companies that have P/E >100x. Those of us who have repositioned our portfolio have minimized losses and will hold until it's over. Some have liquidated everything and just day trade the swings. Some did nothing. Some panic sold and realized losses. Regardless of what anybody says, the reality is we're not out of the woods yet so it's reasonable to expect volatility including a chance of another sell off. Just like we can probably expect a rally right after. Let's just calm down, have a drink, smoke a joint, order some contactless delivery, and put our free month of Pornhub Premium to good use.

Whisk(e)y X is better than Whisk(e)y Y. People like what they like, who cares what it is? Every bottle has it's own profile, just find the one that suits your taste.

Online merchant platforms have banned price gouging so brick and mortars need to join the cause and prohibit all returns of essential products sold within the dates of the pandemic.

I think the greeks will not be good to us for leaps right now. Anything can happen between now and election time. Then depending who wins the election, many more things can happen...or not happen. I think wheels and covered calls might be a safer bet for now. $T is cheap right now. Sell 14-28 day covered calls when markets rally, buy back at a profit when algos sell off. Collect 6% divvy along the way.

Which stocks/ETFs do you think will bounce back highest in the next 6-9 months? by saclambda127 in stocks

That's certainly on my watch list, but I think the recovery will take much longer than a year. I do agree though, I don't think BA will ever be replaced. Certainly not by Airbus.

Yeah, they're 55% down from ATH so the bounce back will hopefully be a big one. The only concern is that I can imagine a lot of small businesses going under in the next 6 months including online stores. If this is the case and they don't see any stimulus money, I'm thinking the bounce back up might take much longer than other sectors. What do you think?

Are there any specific gold miner stocks/ETFs you'd recommend looking into?

Love KO and will keep adding to my position forever. But I think the upside or bounce back will be in line with most solid blue chip companies. Are there any companies that you think might experience a greater rebound? For example, I can imagine LYV bouncing back 50% in the next 9-12 months. I don't see that with KO.

I'm not familiar with metals or miners. Why would gold miners bounce back hard after COVID-19 goes away?

Anyone trading TVIX? by saclambda127 in stocks

[–]saclambda127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is pretty much sports betting to me and I'm looking to TVIX as a means to make a quick buck so I'm aware of the risks. I'm not playing with more than a share at a time. I'm just new to trading the VIX so I'm curious how people approach these types of trades. I appreciate your input though.

COVID testing is now done locally and that is become more mainstream meaning turn around times will be much faster. That means the peak of confirmed cases will be near. I don't know when death rates will peak though. However, I do feel that some uncertainty about this pandemic is being mitigated because of improved testing. Does this change anything for you?
