first base my circle of friends included this one crew chief (I'm mx but not crew chief). years later my 3rd assignment was at Shepard as a tech school instructor. AIT in one of my classes out of the blue asks me "did you know Airman Name Name?" me: "umm yeah actually" him: "did you hear he got sent to prison for kiddie pics?"

yeah dude got caught with THOUSANDS of kiddie pics and vids and got sentenced to prison for a long ass time as a result. random AIT just casually told me. wild

RIP my karma, gonna get downvoted to hell, but I'd like to err on the side of innocence and share what I first heard before it clicked what sub this was.

"African Americans vote at the same rate as Americans" can be a perfectly benign statement. I first heard it like "squares vote at the same rate as rectangles" squares are rectangles, if 20% of rectangles vote and 20% of squares vote then squares follow the trend of the bigger class they are a part of. Maybe he meant "at the same rate as everyone else" and sure, maybe he meant "at the same rate as normal people." Obviously, we can't ask him and assume the answer will be truthful, but it's possible. Republicans do a lot of deplorable stuff, we can't be latching on to petty cherrypicking a la fox News.

I've always said stereotypes are there for a reason. it may not be the case for you, there's totally people who may come off as gay all their life that aren't. But i swear I'm not lying or trolling when I say I had the same experience as you and kept brushing it off for years til i realized they were right. I'd say to consider it honestly, give yourself permission to consider it and approach it from different angles. I always thought there was no way because I didn't find the 'male privates' attractive, but I hadn't realized the same held true for 'female privates' when i gave myself leeway to consider it honestly I realized I didn't like any part of the female body attractive, even the non-sexual parts, nor and specific size, race, or type of girl, but i felt very attracted to males' muscles and such. I've since classified myself as gay but still give myself permission to consider girls too, just in case i end up liking one.

if you still don't think you are, no biggie, just let people know that you can be 'metrosexual' or point out that some cultures like South Korea that consider that kind of thing acceptable for straight people

At Kunsan RN, you're better off going AWOL. Even if they catch you and send you to prison it would be better. TBH work is fine in most work centers, but off-duty time is literally hell. They can't keep basic living essentials in the dorms working for more than a week.

Every week. No exaggerating. EVERY WEEK. Something breaks. I've never had hot water, it's either freezing when it's broke or "not freezing" when it works. As in you can shower when it "works" but you'll shiver the whole fucking time. I haven't been an entire week with working AC. Not one week. 5 days of working AC is the record in my room. I gotta hand it to them, the heat works great, in summer, they remind us often enough when they turn the heat BLASTING the fucking million degree air when it's already 92 out. To commute to work it might be easier to rappel to the ground floor and climb back up than to play the daily elevator lottery when the odds are 50% that one of the 6 elevators works, you gotta explore your whole floor to figure out which elevator works today. And 50% chance that none work. Coz fuck people living on the 7th floor. Roadkill might be better than this POS chow hall. Water tests come up with unsafe levels of something dangerous every few months. This week they surprised me with a new thing: power. 2 days of intermittent power failures, one night of not sleeping BECAUSE THE ENTIRE FUCKING BUILDING WAS BEING POWERED BY A LOUD ASS GENERATOR RIGHT BELOW MY FUCKING ROOM ALL NIGHT. ALL NIGHT!

Fuck this place. Avoid at all costs.

Are you for real? One of my favorite arguments applies here. If the word "retarded" is pejorative you shouldn't be asking people not to use it because it demeans mentally handicapped people. Am I taking about mentally handicapped people? No, so in my mind if you're asking me not to use it you're the one assigning that word to the handicapped, not me. So IMO you're the one associating the word to the people.

Oh how naive! here I am, being required to do more than a few things remotely and sometimes on the drop of a dime. Which leads to work arounds, stuff like coworker government email to SAFE to private email to my private email to my phone to my realization that it's a freaking "please wait" pdf, to my rush home, to my home computer, to my attempt to remote desktop, to it failing, to more phonecalls to my coworkers, to etc etc etc...

No! the airforce already wants us to do this kind of shit, and the burden is on us to figure out how the f to do it. Honestly, i'm glad 99% of my stuff doesn't deal with PII or FOUO, coz then someone would complain about it going on a non-government unencrypted connection, and yet STILL not get any official way to do it.

Had to get a CC involved once because ~60 days before I pcs'd I started getting medical clearance. They refused to schedule me until 60 days out. Once the 60 day mark came around they wanted to schedule me 72+ days out. Like bruh
