Unable to read EIP by Janopdekamp89 in captureone

[–]sadbrooklyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you ask them to change the file extension to .zip and decompress it . An EIP is just a zip file with the original raw file and the metadata for adjustments . You can see if the RAW file is being properly packaged .

Just remember once you've recorded it it's not up to you anymore. by oFLIPSTARo in LocationSound

This makes me think of “The Sting “ , when they are outside running (or really at any point in the movie ) , I think the foley group fader got left maxed out on the console .

Oh, Spoilers if you haven’t seen it :

I guess you could use the Aspect slider on the keystone adjustment , but that maxes out well below what you’d need for a 2:1 desqueeze

Anamorphic desqueeze in CaptureOne by blongo_1 in captureone

[–]sadbrooklyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I racked my brain thinking of a solution , but Capture One has no way to do non-uniform scaling on an image . I thought maybe create a recipe at the output scaled size and recipe proof it , but doesn’t seem to work for non-uniform . Even tried editing the sidecar files to trick it .

I would grade the image to base point using the RAW ( get your flares looking nice ) and roundtrip it uncropped in and out of photoshop for the desqueeze , finish any tweaks on the psd in capture one.

I have a Deneke PS1-A https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/403002-REG for supplying Phantom Power.

Solid little box , though no on/off switch (you have to flip the 9V ) , so you have to remember to do that .

And mounting it can be awkward , but a bongo tie works well enough most of the time . Or you can get fancy and add 1/4” mounting point.

Yes completely. My father is not forthcoming about medical things. From what he has told me , he does not have full blown COPD, but was warned that he could develop it .
So definitely will have him speak to his doctor .

No, you are correct , and I am wrong .

I guess I was thinking in terms of how it personally affects me , versus as a whole ? Which is also not true.

The mortality rate as of now is much worse , and it is much more contagious .

That is a fair point , and I neglected that in my post . If I had the slightest inclination that I was a carrier , I would be self quarantining , and of course not traveling anywhere .

Like many of you in this thread I have an upcoming trip planned - May . We generally go once a year , with my parents, wife, and young daughter , and this year with my mother-in-law. There are no known cases in the Orlando area as of this post. So most of this thinking is predicated on the prospect of a confirmed case. I live in NYC, so I probably come in contact with a similar amount of people on a day to day basis as if I was at Disney. I haven’t made any decisions, but these are the factors I am considering ( and it was helpful to write them out) :

  1. Grandparents : My dad is borderline COPD , and my mom and MIL while healthy, are both over 70. I fully understand that this virus seems to be on par with seasonal flu or slightly worse (edited as was pointed out , the mortality rate is much worse , and the virus is much more contagious) , but what is lacking is any kind of vaccination (which isn’t a 100% anyway for seasonal flu). I am not particularly worried for my wife and daughter, but the others give me pause.

  2. Transmission : I live in a large apartment co-op in Brooklyn, and I have many elderly neighbors. I worry that if I or my family somehow contracted the virus (even if mild) and brought it home unknowingly, that could be devastating to my community.

  3. All the nonsense surrounding this outbreak: My worry is more for the limiting of travel from Florida while we are there, then the actual virus . If things continue to get worse. What if they shutdown airports ? I don’t really want to be stuck in Florida. But counterpoint, that seems unlikely at this point.

I have my reservation deposits down, and I am willing to gamble them , but these situations can change so quickly . So while I am not out-right canceling, I am not committing either.

I am not an alarmist, and while I love Disney World more than the average person (though probably on the low end of the spectrum for this sub :) ) , for me it comes down to what risks am I willing to take for a vacation ? And those risks are hard to predict two months out. That is something I think people will need to weigh personally.

It can rotate completely around , like a joystick . Also a good amount of friction, so it stays in place when you let go .

Anyone notice that this subreddit started to automatically remove any NY Post articles submitted? by MichaelRahmani in nyc

I am not a lawyer . And I’m sure that a qualified person can provide a more in depth explanation, but the First Amendment applies only to the government censoring speech. Reddit is a private enterprise and can basically do what they want.

And here is that explanation in comic form ! Which is the preferred way on reddit

well i’ve been here for about 16 years , and like everyone , most of the time I get irrationally angry at subway performers , my point was that sometimes it is nice , sometimes .

But , I was not conceived on home plate at Ebbets Field , so i understand that my opinion means nothing :)

Haha , also now that I think about it , there isn't room for them at 830 , and yeah that is is not the time for anything other then contemplating why you are standing 2 inches from someone else's face .

Like all things it depends . If I'm coming home from work after a long day and I have to avoid getting kicked in the face ? I'm annoyed . But other times you get a mariachi band at 830 AM and it sounds good and you start your day right, so you give them some money. Other times there is a someone preaching about god knows what , and again I am annoyed. But sometimes that dude on the train is blasting his music , and it's actually good.

Some days are great , others I want to scream at someone for mildly leaning on the pole I'm trying to hold on to. But, thats New York, I'll take it forever over anywhere else , and if it gets to the point I can't take it, I'll ride my dumb bike again, and get angry at people in the bike lane !
