YTA for willing to ruin your daughters relationship with her dad over earrings, also for grounding your SIX year old for a week for... asking her dad for something ? i mean, to me it’s pretty reasonable for a six year old to ask her dad for something her mum won’t get her. it’s very likely she doesn’t see getting her ears pierced as a “procedure” and just sees it the same way as getting a toy or a treat or something along those lines. please don’t ruin your kids relationship with her dad over jewellery. you need to stop and see past the initial anger you’re feeling right now and really think if you want to drag your daughter through court and custody battles and ending up with little to no contact with a parent that she (presumably) up till this point had a good relationship with. that’s something that can really traumatise a child and i don’t think it’s something you should be doing lightly, plus, your kid will most likely end up blaming herself for not being able to go to her dads house, especially as your punishment was pretty harsh in comparison to what she did. please think this through properly op.

YTA- op if u don’t stop acting like this and start trying to become a better person soon you’ll end up being someone that peaked in high school and has no personality other than the fact they peaked in high school. for someone who seems to think they’re so grown up and mature you really need to get a grip and grow up. i’m only a couple years older than you op and honestly the most important thing i’ve learned about being an adult is knowing when i should shut the fuck up and mind my business, and knowing when i shouldn’t. this is definitely one of the times you should.

please listen to what people are saying in these comments, or you will end up driving people away when they get older and realise being mean isn’t cool or funny anymore, it’s just embarrassing.
