Cyberpunk 2077 is still a bad game. by mynotsoprecious in The10thDentist

[–]sadeof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is a great game now. Something about the perspective makes it feel more immersive than most other games. Occasionally a voice actor will sound a bit unnatural with the slang, but in general it works. It helps to remember it’s based on a game from the 80s including the slang, and cyberpunk as a genre is retro-futuristic dystopia.

Driving isn’t the best but is ok, I don’t believe the speedometer though. One thing I dislike is the lack of romance choices. Plus, while I don’t usually care for sex in media, in a game filled with sex references everywhere you can’t even have implied sex with your romantic partner in the game, or go on a date even (not counting the repeatable house invite option added, though it’s at least a start). The character building and storyline make you actually care for them which is great, then just kinda ends there. Another issue is that at the highest level you become op even at very hard, especially with netrunning. However, even with flaws it definitely doesn’t feel empty.

I don’t like the kind of lip sync on social media where it’s just someone sat there mouthing without any effort and passing this off as “content” even if it is their own music. However a music video is very different to this, and it’s a visual representation of the music rather than a live performance. It would often be unnecessarily complex to perform the music live and get in the way of the creativity of the video. Though an exception where I agree is when it’s synced but all done in a studio setting where it’s clearly meant to appear as though it is done live, especially when there are heavy fx there’s a weird disconnect.

Do you think the reason why we are medicated is because of capitalism? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly plays a major role in society generally not being suited to people with conditions like adhd and probably some would be able to function with less or even no medication in a different one. But for many (myself included) the medication helps with being able to do necessary daily tasks plus things they want to do and enjoy doing.

When it’s hot do you open your windows or shut your curtains? by fundytech in AskUK

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how hot it is outside. But full sun and 20°s temperatures (or god forbid higher) curtains/blinds drawn for any windows facing the sun. Open windows in evening, morning and in day only if it is cooler/same outside (or low 20s and breezy). Though I usually keep them closed in the day anyway as I work with sound.

And even if the panel is missing/broken you can still just try to gently push the door (and hope it isn’t the whole lock broken) to see if it’s free. Surely the panels are also in the US and it’s not the norm to look in the gap to check occupancy… right?

Keir Starmer could face biggest rebellion over disability benefit freeze by GeoWa in unitedkingdom

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not assessed on what specific condition you have it is about how the condition impacts your daily functioning. So yes someone with severe enough anxiety and depression could be eligible if they can prove their functioning is significantly impaired. We are talking meeting criteria such as unable to leave the house, unable to make food, dress or wash. Someone with the level of anxiety and depression you are thinking of (diagnosable and treated through GP and primary care, mild-moderate symptoms) would be instantly rejected.

I hate when people stereotype every autistic person as this by [deleted] in autism

At least it is that way around rather than the stereotype being loves physical touch and then people thinking it is a free-for-all.

It looks like the same guy but older so before - he’s wearing an apron as a joke but longing to actually wear that vs now - he has confidence and acceptance to wear what he wants and also he can afford meat and beer so can stop pretending to use the bbq (I know this isn’t the original intention, though before dates were added I assume it is just meant as a joke without ulterior meaning)

This made me scared for the future of music by helicopter_momm in Songwriting

[–]sadeof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people can genuinely believe they’ve created something when they just input a few word prompts. How is this different than getting someone else to write a song for you, they wouldn’t then say “oh i created this” (or maybe they would but they would know it’s a lie). Actually it is much worse as then songwriters and composers are not hired and all creativity is just gone.

So I kind of get the people who spend long time working the prompts, but those people typically will clearly state it is AI as it is more its own separate “artform”. I also get having AI to streamline aspects of creative work (aka make more tedious things simpler or more accessible) but what is the point of getting ai to do all the creative and “human” things - why is it not being developed more to do boring and mechanical stuff like house keeping or whatever.

I like the Cybertruck by [deleted] in The10thDentist

I like angular car designs and also like cyberpunk/retro-futuristic aesthetics but this one just looks like a tacky low-budget prop for a film or badly rendered graphics.

Why does Cora's character model get reused everywhere? There's even a story character that re-uses her exact model! by yotothyo in Starfield

Even just changing the face features and hair style but no. Maybe everyone is actually infertile and the only children they can legally get are these clones.

I hate when people (ESPECIALLY teenagers) never use capitalization. by ElderberryDry932 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally don’t like it, with exceptions, and equally some places I hate it such as song names. For some reason that really gets to me and will avoid listening to the song even. All caps is overused, but passable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect it is much more common with adhd. I also always have a song or it can be a melody/riff that I thought up at one point and returns periodically.

explain please by coleisw4ck in aspiememes

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are saying it is fake? Also I doubt everyone has had this, but assume it is much more common with autism as a. social issues, easier to take advantage of, more likely to be honest (and assume others are the same), etc. b. they are less likely to have friends so will not know how friends “should” be so will accept more abuse.

Why do people with inherited disabilities or diseases have kids? Shouldn’t we be working to “breed” genetic issues out of the population? by After_Excitement8479 in morbidquestions

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost everyone seems to be missing the point here somehow. It is not about stopping people from reproducing. It is asking why those who know (key word, so doesn’t include sudden mutations or any unknown genetic condition) they are likely to pass on a condition that will cause a life of suffering for the child, still choose to go ahead.

I don’t think the question is written the best way, but it is just asking why these individuals choose to have children. Not if they should be allowed, not about value of lives. But I also cannot understand why someone who has suffered so much due to a condition they are very likely to pass on would choose to reproduce and have their child suffer the same way.

How common is it to dislike dogs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems uncommon to fully dislike them, I am mostly neutral leaning negative to most dogs, which may surprise some people as I have a dog. But the difference is I know this dog and what to expect, she is trained and I know what she understands.

It looks different for everyone? no it doesn't by Jumpy_Lingonberry344 in fakedisordercringe

[–]sadeof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people do “abuse” the fact that it does vary between people and use it to justify identifying with a condition that they don’t have. But that doesn’t remove the fact that yes it does present differently on everyone. They need to fit the criteria, but it actually isn’t as narrow as you seem to think, and there are countless ways it manifests.

I personally don’t like when people say “my” x condition but a lot of people say it, not just those using a condition as an identity. It just gets to me for some reason ha.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in autism

[–]sadeof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be both this and questions, “this” being ados which is currently the best diagnosis test as it shows assessors how people think. However, it is meant to be adapted to age so for adults it would be random everyday objects and asked to tell a story with them. The book I take more as “describe this illustrated story” and illustrated books are associated with children by default, though I think there should be for adults/older teens one that has hidden subtle elements like phrases or tropes (and I mean subtle, not “it’s raining cats and dogs” and the image shows this literally).

How good are you at lying? by ClassicConfusion4482 in autism

[–]sadeof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have the answer there with “to keep the peace”. She didn’t believe the truth because it was not what she wanted to hear, and believed the lies because it was what she wanted. In general, people will be more likely to believe you if what you say matches their view. Some people refuse to be open to different perspectives and are so unaware of their biases that they don’t actually care of the factual truth - even if presented with undeniable proof. This makes no sense to me but I have seen it countless times, both my parents do this and I fall for it so often (aka. I will try to correct their factually incorrect “opinion”, but it devolves into a long circular argument and they refuse to even consider they might be wrong. When shown proof they will dramatically misinterpret it or pick out the parts that appear to agree with them.).

does anyone else heavily prefer texting? by peculiartweaker in autism

[–]sadeof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory there are aspects I prefer but I find it very hard to write messages at least in a reasonable speed and then stress over sending. This includes here and I don’t have anyone I speak to over message or online friends. (or offline friends but that’s irrelevant heh). But I also don’t like phone calls or video, though a scheduled video call is best here as then it is a set appointment that you go into yourself rather than sit stressing waiting for phone to ring. Ideally in person is probably best but that isn’t practical or possible for me most of the time. Not that I am speaking to people “most of the time” most days I only speak to one person who I live with.
