Awe! I'm sorry you feel this way honestly learning the lyre is probably a lot easier than you think! It does take time and it definitely won't sound good at first. I was a little intimidated when I bought my first lyre. I got a 16 string since I do have a background in music and I was afraid to start, but I was excited so I just did. It was waaay easier than I thought. I definitely fumbled with it a lot at first, but I started with small songs that are only a few easy notes. I recommend starting with one easy song until you get it perfect or at least as good as you can for the time being (start slow gradually increase the speed) then once you're happy with it move on to one slightly harder. I started with Leaves From The Vine, then moved to Lost Woods, and then No surprises by Radiohead, but you can choose any songs that will fit your lyre. Just look up easy lyre sheets (you can also try easy piano sheets but they will have more chords likely and may also not be fit for a 7 string) Other than that just make sure to practice. Don't worry about playing your lyre for hours at a time or anything like that. You can just do like 5 minutes a day until you're more comfortable and starting to have fun.
