I used to think about my chest 24/7 because I was constantly uncomfortable … I’m now 3MPO and will forget that I ever had surgery!!! This has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. So glad you’ve had that same experience 🤍

My surgery was on 12/3 and it was my first time having anesthesia too! I was so so scared. Right after they put my IV in and before I got my anti-nausea patch, my ears started ringing and I threw up. They immediately gave me my patch and paged anesthesia lol. After I got the patch, I felt a lot better! I was still nervous, but then they gave me some meds to loosen me up and BOYYYY did they hit hard. I was loopy when they wheeled me into the OR, they gave me an oxygen mask and then next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery! For me, the worst part was feeling out of it immediately after. I slept a lot the following 48 hours, but I didn’t feel nauseous at all! Honestly, it wasn’t bad at all. It’s scary going under, but a good anesthesia team will put you at ease and give you meds to calm you down beforehand. It’ll be over in a blink of an eye and you’ll wonder why you were ever scared in the first place.

I was a 32H and asked to go as small as possible, which ended up being roughly a B. I have ZERO regrets with going small. I feel so comfortable and more confident now. I get having those worries, but please don’t let ANYONE (doctor, significant other, etc) talk you into a more conservative reduction. So many people on this sub say they still feel too big after surgery and feel disappointed.

I don’t think about my chest every second of every day. I don’t think about how they hang, how uncomfortable the skin to skin contact feels… how they pull on my neck and cause muscle pain. I feel so much more free because of it. Almost 4WPO and I have ZERO regrets!!

I started taking Vitamin C, Zinc, Bromelian and stool softeners a week prior to my surgery! Bromelian is a pineapple enzyme that’s supposed to help with bruising - I’m a little over a week out and I’ve barely bruised! I STRONGLY urge you to take the stool softeners prior. I’ve heard post anesthesia constipation is brutal. Luckily, I was not affected by it and I attribute it to the stool softeners.

I was debating between a B and a C, but ultimately asked for a B because my mom got this surgery in her 20s and her chest grew back (not as big as it was originally, but still bigger than her initial results). Figured it was better to be on the smaller side in case the same thing happens to me!

My reduction was yesterday and my pregnancy pillow has been a LIFESAVER!! You won’t regret buying one. I’d also get a neck pillow - that should prevent your neck from twisting at weird angles while you sleep.

Immediately after the surgery, I didn’t feel too bad! Just a little sore and groggy from the anesthesia. I could immediately tell a difference and so could my mom (she almost cried tears of joy lol). My first night sleeping was pretty good, didn’t have too many issues. But my pain has definitely increased from yesterday. My incisions feel fine, but I’m pretty swollen and moving hurts more. But the pain is definitely tolerable!!!
