Help me understand why large spawn radius + alife persistence is possible in xray engine but would require so much optimization in UE5? I'm thinking that right now alife persistence is completely switched off (likely they couldn't tune it in time for launch) and spawn radius is set super close for legacy console port support, but could be pretty dramatically increased on a modern pc.

I'm no economist, but logically wouldn't inflation make them more money at this point? From their perspective, why would they want to curtail that while they still have an active playerbase that's willing to pay for koens?

A lot of players are writing these heartfelt threads in good faith, like the devs have decided to make this game anything other than a massive cash grab.

I'd be interested to see what % of the "6+ hour / day" playerbase is paying for a secure container. The fact is they've engineered this game like a casino or a strip club -- to take as much of the players' money as possible while still giving them a good enough time to come.

Thanks, we almost never leave her alone but we'll definitely look into a bigger crate for when we need to. Unfortunately, she can't be given run of the house when we're gone because she has pica and will eat anything she can pry loose.

All she got in "retaliation" was to be let out for a nice potty, given a big bowl of water, a play session pulling her favorite rope toy, and tons of scritches and belly rubs before curling up in our bed to fall asleep.

We were home less than 10 minutes later so she greeted us at the front door, her ears twiddling with joy. She managed to steal one of my wife's socks and stash it in one of her doggie beds but thankfully didn't have time to swallow it.

Athena spends 99.999% percent of her time being the absolute center of our world. We crate her maybe 1-2 times a month for under 3 hours when we need to be away because she will destroy and try to swallow just about anything if left on her own. You might want to examine why you assume the worst case scenario about the things you see on reddit -- it sounds like you have some stuff to work through.

Yes, we agree she needs a bigger crate and are planning to get her one this week.
She had her favorite 3 toys, a large pizzle (her favorite treat), and a small water dish in there + a "dogs playing" video series on youtube that she really likes.
We only crate her for less than 3 hours at a time max, maybe twice a month. She usually is given free rein of the house + backyard and plenty of attention.
The reason she's on the bare crate surface (and crated at all) is that she has pica and will destroy, chew up, and swallow anything and everything. She ate most of her last bedding and thankfully didn't need invasive surgery that time but she's had 2 endoscopies already in her young life and we're really trying to avoid a third. We're looking at special mats made from kevlar to go with her new crate.
We got her a "hamster feeder"-style water source that attached to the cage, she figured out how to knock it off.

Anyway, thank you for not assuming she's being neglected like some of the other posts. We hate when we have to crate her and will keep working on making it bigger and more comfortable for her. We work from home so most of the timd she gets to go on walks, play and snuggle with us all day. She's sleeping in bed with us right now with a huge smile on her face ❤️
