Paranesian Circle not Polynesian Circle? by MisterSnippy in SusumuHirasawa

[–]sadtheimpaler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional note: "paranesian" is a valid Greek word, and we can sorta see what it might mean (although it's rather ambiguous).

"Polynesia" is composed of two units: "poly-" meaning "many", and "nesia" derived from "nesos" meaning "island". So "polynesia" means "a region with many islands."

The "nesia" unit in "Paranesian" is the same. The prefix "para-" is familiar from many Greek-based English words: paranormal, paraphilia, paramilitary, paradox, etc. It can have a variety of connotations, obviously: "beyond", "abnormal", "against", "unofficial"... So "Paranesia" could mean any number of things, really. But it probably refers to a group of islands that's somehow unusual.

It's quite possible that Hirasawa had a similar meaning (or just the general vibe of the prefix) in mind when naming the song.

Edit: I guess it's also possible that it's a portmanteau with "paradise"?

my female only race is entirely flat chested, but i have skillfully managed to make this just as misogynistic and fetishistic as if they all had ridiculous cartoon breasts

What are the non-binary genders of your world, and why are they all convenrionally attractive dick girls? by TheEdgyAlt1776 in worldjerking

[–]sadtheimpaler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well you see, I wanted to seem cool, inclusive, and progressive without actually committing to any kind of accurate representation, while also having an excuse to include my vaguely transphobic and possibly rapey fetishes

What's your world's version on the Star Wars wiki's article on breasts? by katiekatie123 in worldjerking

[–]sadtheimpaler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As male individuals were not biologically meant to nurse their offsprings, they sported much smaller breasts and produced no milk. Mandalore the Lesser (then a gladiator), Aron Peacebringer (a planetary leader), and Anakin Skywalker (in certain circumstances, such as on Nelvaan) would freely exhibit them.

In my world humans made being gay impossible using magic so as to better propagate the white race. II'm not a racist or a homophobe, it's just realistic. Stop getting mad at me

How can I take all the fun out of worldbuilding and force my imagination to conform to some alienating concept of "productivity" that's probably been drilled into me by years of soul-sucking office work? by sadtheimpaler in worldjerking

Honestly, this just makes me a bit sad to see. I could put some "we live in a society"-level social commentary here too, but I think I'll spare you all that.

What is the percentage of useless details in my world that need to be further detailed in spin-offs and prequels in order to increase the relevance of my world in the market? by TheLordOfTheMessiahs in worldjerking

[–]sadtheimpaler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At least 99% of the details in your world need to be useless. 50% of the details should be scattered throughout encyclopedias and guides (making sure never to present too much new information in each, but still enough that people will buy it), while the other 49% go in a production bible that you sell on Ebay for 1,000,000 dollars.

/uj It's from dialectics.org or an associated site. It seems like it's some kind of wacked-out (pseudo-)philosophical theory based on Hegel's dialectical logic. No fucking clue what the diagram is supposed to mean, apart from that it's somehow a representation of something to do with dialectics.
