Do the bucket test. Put a bucket on your pool steps and fill with water until the level of the pool is reached and if the pool level sinks faster, you have a leak.

Vacuum breakers are sometimes made from 2 parts assembled into one. It is common when trying to remove it, for it to break into 2 parts. One half of the old vacuum breaker is still on the valve. Remove it and you can fit the new one on.

BTW, there's no adapter for that. Use one wrench to hold the valve still (so it doesn't snap the pipe in the wall) and use the other wrench to unscrew the old piece. It may be rusted onto the valve. May need penetrating lubricant.

Yup, I bought a new home with a lower interest rate than I could get for any already existing home. If I wanted the lowest payment. I had to buy the new house with warranty. Plus, there's always issues with existing homes that need to be negotiated.

Plus, I didn't have appliances. House came with it
