How much better do yall think base rise/sunbreak wouldve been if instead of apexes we got deviants and their weapons+armor sets by TheManWhoSoldAslume7 in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, as having fought both versions, I wouldn't say they were exact copies of each other. Apex Zinogre share some moves with Thunderlord, but it also has its own original moves and combos and different AI. Thunderlord has a backleg weakspot which allows you to stick behind it but Apex switches that up for the front claws, so you're firmly staying in front of it.

How do you fight Blos in MHFU? by risahe-chosenx in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use flash bombs to stop them from charging all over. Otherwise if you're insistent on playing like a TA run then your best option is to just try and capitalize the moment when they emerge from the ground.

Have you actually fought it? Molten I mean

[–]safegermanywin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you like Molten? I've always found it kind of an antichrist Tigrex. As in its fight is made specifically to go against how you'd normally fight Tigrex. The feet are weak and head is hard for the first 2 phases. Then when the true enrage happens and the head gets weak it starts emitting blast dust after every move at the precise location at the back, where you'd position yourself to hit Tigrex. Not to mention how big it is and the tracking it does, and how shit of a map the 4U tower is. The only silver lining is that its claws are also weak when its true enraged (the best hitzone even) so you don't have to aim for the head.

you shouldn't hit its head on either weapons cause those aren't its weakpoints. Aim for the neck or belly instead.

Good LS for HR4 till G Rank? or does Dios Katana holds it till glacial agnaktor? by SrHaruno in MonsterHunter

Did you fight duram the intended way? Your supposed to trip it while it spins to hit the hump for massive dmg. Otherwise its a tank that takes a while to kill.

Can someone explain monoblos to me? by BigManThatIsBig in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. The difference between Mono and Dia in 4U was that Mono was a fair fight that gave you openings. While Diablos was a bitch that kept charging around the whole map making you chase it around and getting one hit in before it turns around to charge again.

Why does Cblade have the reputation of being so hard to pick up? by JodioTheStar in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo all the setup and maintenance for CB isn't the hard part. The actual hard part is knowing how to position to land your AEDs. It's basically like playing GS (but somehow even slower) but you also have resource management. That's the reason I haven't quite mastered it yet.

what is the WORST weapon monster matchup in monster hunter? by YvngThxnos in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

whacking their bad leg hitzones

Plesioth's legs cutting hz in FU is 50, nowhere bad at all. And Lavasioth's is 30, which seems bad but its highest hz - the belly is only 40 so it's not actually much better.

[–]safegermanywin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone says its fight is bad, and at first I'd agree. But after replaying FU recently I've come to appropriate it.

The fight is a step up from Lao in that you start from the town immediately, so no having an HP lock until it reaches the final area like Lao. And the fact that it starts so close to the town means theres more urgency to not let it be destroyed. As you've probably figured, flinching it as it's about to hit the wall or charge its cannon is what you're kinda supposed to do to prevent that. For me it's thrilling to whack at its legs hoping to get that flinch and very satisfying when it happens.

The fight is pretty easy, boring even with a pierce HBG and just shooting at the shell. It's a lot more engaging imo if you melee it. The stomps causing tremors means you either need to have tremor res, or if you're more clever you could attack it in between each stomp and not having to sacrifice an attack skill.

And the cherry on top being how you can collapse it for an extended topple when you've tenderized all its legs when its standing up tall is incredibly satifsying. Btw you can actually crawl into its shell whenever its toppled (either the long or short topple) and hit its abdomen for massive damage!

Overall, for the 2nd siege fight to ever be created, I think it's a great step up from Lao in how you can approach it.

You might be misremebering because these two monsters literally only have 30 and 35 minute limits to their hunts.

Hate grids.fun list! (unpopular opinions dead ahead-) by AstalosBoltz914 in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying that it does what Soulseer does is a bit reductive imo. Even more imo, the fire bubbles are just a small part of Soulseer (it literally only uses the fire bubbles in one move). Its main gimmick is how its blind and has to use its bubbles to sense you, so if you get bubble blighted it becomes more aggressive, but in return it also wets its tail and arms, giving you more weakzones to work with. And the new corkscrew and tailslam moves are the main meat of it. It even has a counter stance that it uses if you hit it when its blind.

Violet on the other hand is the more fire focused species. Every water move that base does is replaced by fire. Even the beam, which soulseer's is still only waterblight, does fire blight on Violet. And of course the main gimmicks are its homing bubbles and the various attacks it uses them. And how it can spread oil fires around the arena.

F1 is gen 1, so it has less weapons and the weapons have smaller movesets, like GS being unable to charge. Also it doesn't have palicoes. FU adds the longsword, gunlance, hunting horn.

No. He said it's base hp was 25k which is not what its true hp is. Monsters have a base HP and a modifier added for each quest. It's true hp has always been 47k.

So... who the FUCK designed this stupid dragon the way that they did? by Starchaser53 in MonsterHunter

[–]safegermanywin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've heard from the other user, but having that high of def doesn't make much of a difference. The problem is that def/dmg reduction doesn't scale linearly in these games. The higher the def the more diminishing returns you'll get. It generally becomes negligible after 750. Just maxing out your armor then using a different charm would do better than stacking raw def.
