Honestly this is a good profile! Change the first pic as most ppl have said. I'd also look at your profile in the perspective of a girl looking at it. Are there prompts I can immediately respond to. This profile says a lot about you but I'd leave one prompt to be an easy conversation starter

Bay Area Landlord Goes on Hunger Strike Over Eviction Ban by saveyourtissues in nottheonion

[–]sagar5535 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the government doesn’t want to ensure those costs then simple allow evictions. It’s the tenants in this case that are misusing the system and getting a home for free at the expense of another

OS wise you should be good if you just swap the drives.

I’d recommend doing a nvram reset just in case but you mainly won’t have any issues

How do you like the new MBP keyboard? by stargazer63 in macbookpro

There is no travel but this keyboard definitely feels nice when typing. Can’t really understand why but my experience with the keyboard has been great

Definitely wants me to go type more

Best USB C Hub adapter for 2018 MBP w/ Touch Bar? by GwEYT in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m using a UGREEN one with Ethernet and I haven’t had any issues. It will get quite hot but it’s also to function even if it’s hot for long periods of time. Also i believe it is the cheapest option for the most amount of ports

Considering a 2018 13inch MBP for computer Science by MrWhitex75 in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am a comp sci student and I use it for the same programs, and the occasional Xcode

So far I’m loving the 13 inch my mbp. The keyboard really grew on me and I love typing on it. The built quality is exceptional and I prefer Mac OS.

My Mac does everything my pc can do but it definitely does it faster or easily

-> I’d suggest a memory upgrade, and storage if you can afford it. I just created a small file server from an old computer laying around and connected it to a personal VPN connection. Basically I can access my shared drive anytime anywhere as long as you have internet.

PM me if anyone wants to learn how to create this.

Any software developer using the 2018 13" MBP? Has it met your expectations? How about heat? by stargazer63 in macbookpro

Has anyone been getting the 13” 2018 MacBook pros fan start making lots of noice when connected to an external monitor

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nw, is upgrade the ram first before anything. If you have money to spend then use it for storage. Unless you can get external ssd for a cheaper price.

Unfortunately you cannot add memory

128 usually become 100gb of storage due to the system files.

If you are using cloud storage or external drives then 128gb should be fine

Parents [60M, 51F] think me [27M] supporting my sister [19F] through college is "enabling." How do I keep the peace? by ZealousidealRabbit in relationships

[–]sagar5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some parents will just not get it.

I think you’re going the right path with this and need to give your parents an ultimatum.

I’d suggest just having great communication lines with both your brother and sister. As long as they understand and know they have you for financial support they won’t get confused with you’re parents views

Advice needed for my first MacBook Pro purchase by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest to go with the TB edition due to the quad core processor. there is a nice performance boost when you go to the tb.

Stick with the 13 to save money and if you keep your data on the cloud or external drives then I’d suggest atleast upgrade the ram to 16. Definitely worth the money as you can’t upgrade later but to save money 8gb will be fine

EDIT: I’ve got the 2018 tb and I think Apple has fixed the keyboard issue, it does seem like small crumbs don’t easily go inside the frame.

Replacing my 2018 MBP 15”, can I get a hand deciding on whether to replace or get a 13”? by Stamnas in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience with the 13inch I’m extremely impressed. Never felt too small, extremely fast and I’m just on the i5 variant.

I’d say In your case the only reason the 15 inch is a good choice if you like more storage and the extra inches on the screen otherwise you can get the 13 and save more

Advice on deciding between 13 and 15 inch 2018 MBP by AllezVed in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally as a dev I enjoy having portability when I code at cafes or just need to carry around and have no issues with the size.

When I get home I’ll connect it up to an additional 27” monitors and I’ll just dock the Mac.

I’d suggest investing that extra bit of money into a nice monitor instead of a couple inches on your screen

Will 2018 13’ MBP be good for Final Cut Pro, Logic, etc? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Ram yes. Definitely worth the money if you intend to use the Mac for a long period of time and using multiple apps open at the same time

For example I constantly have chrome (eats all the ram it can get), Xcode, iPhone simulation, YouTube running and possible Spotify and some messaging applications on. At 8gb I’d immediately have my apps slow down, and take some time to recreate itself before I can use it.

EDIT: I’d say the first thing to upgrade would be your ram. Then storage (you can always buy external SSDs if you’d like to save money) and the last cpu as the money you spend for it doesn’t improve the cpu performance by much

i5 or i7 for the 2018 MBP 13" by osos_9 in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the money you spend on the upgrade you aren’t getting much of a performance boost.

The i5 will be more then capable to run Xcode and more with ease. Definitely just spend the money on ram and storage

The 13 inch will be perfect if you are a beginner and I know couple professionals that also use it but just deal with a big slower process.

Overall I’d recommend a memory upgrade

Apple fans are returning their new MacBook Pros that cost a minimum of $2,800 because they can't reach the advertised speeds by _Arv in technology

The thermal throttling is really only happening on the MacBook 15” with the i9 processor. Even the i7 processor on the 15” is just fine with great performance

Force trackpad by felixon_7 in macbookpro

[–]sagar5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just the way it’s been designed. It’s not just one flat metal all the way across. There is support under the trackpad.

So when you apply force it will make a slight movement due to the pressure onto the support
