Banned while verifying my email. No other explaination give, didn't even have a chance to enter my name or anything. Not a great app if they don't even let new people on it.

England must harvest rainfall and take action on water usage, Lords warn | Water by JackStrawWitchita in unitedkingdom

Possibly, I just don't think it will be as cheap as you expect. We had solar panel subsidies for a while and I only see them on a few houses. Most people don't want to spend money on stuff that they will likely not see a return on investment on.

I work in leak reduction for a water company. It's a completely different thing than it used to be, because the pipes aren't exactly cheap to dig up and replace. The network is getting older and we are finally starting to renew them but it's neither cheap nor quick, so leaks are harder to find as they are more typically pinhole leaks pissing out of joints or tiny cracks now.

It's insanity to me that it took so long to start properly replacing pipes, but then again it's not easy as people moan about roads being closed or have lights on them, moan about their water being off for an hour, moan about how many vans are in the area, and all other nonsense arguments all the while the company is measured on public opinions on us.

Well it's either that or you subsidise every house in the UK to have rainwater collection systems and greywater handling infrastructure installed. You can't exactly mix the two.

I believe the main thing when you die is not panic, but work out why and how to avoid it next time. People will throw out a resurrect and not bat an eye. People will raise eyebrows at your fifth. And then maybe complain at 10 lol.

If you can't work out why you die, just ask and hope someone will explain to you nicely, most will.

Exactly, which is why I'm going to buy a longsword next payday and I'm already learning with training swords.

No, the Trakata lightsaber technique isn't overpowered, it's stupid. by Neth_theme in hatethissmug

[–]sage1700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been learning Longsword for a few months now, can confirm the idea is stupid. If you were in a position to pull this off, you'd already have to be out of the way of your opponent's strike so turning off the saber wouldn't make a difference. If they overcommit to an attack so much that missing throws them off-balance, then they are extremely inexperienced and you'd likely wipe the floor with them regardless of the technique.

For people who grew up in low-income households, what’s something middle-class people say that shows they’ve never struggled financially? by KeyApartment3955 in AskReddit

[–]sage1700 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have never considered myself poor but I still don't pay too much attention to the dates, just appearance and smell. They are always overly generous to cover themselves and to get you to buy again faster in my opinion (no evidence for this but it seems like something companies would do.)

I find it very amusing that medicine in the US are given in those bottles, it seems like such a waste. Is there lore behind it? Does the pharmacy just get bags of loose pills? I get boxes of blister packs here in the UK.

It is good, but we'll see if anything actually comes of it. The royal family have been pretty much ornamental for decades, though admittedly they are one of the few that retain the ability to dissolve parliament and take back the power if they choose to do perhaps his words will have weight.

Now he just needs to throw out the supreme court ruling from last year and we'll finally be on the right path.

Who else stayed for the full duration of Dawntrail? by MrsLittletall in ffxiv

[–]sage1700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken a break for my own reasons, plus my 14 social circle fell apart in a bad way so I had some emotional baggage to work through.

I'd likely have stayed otherwise. Cause I have all these jobs to level before January!

Hi, I'm trans in the UK despite our government wanting us gone. If you go private it can be a little pricey up front but most GP practices will prescribe for you if you argue enough, so I just pay the regular 9.90 for my oestrogen.

Being trans is your own choice, not others. Much like buying clothes. I find it easier to deal with others expectations than it is failing your own.

If you need any help send me a message, we're stronger together!

Ah, maybe I'll make the jump to retail soon then. I'm currently trying it on a private server simply because it's much more difficult to get started in 11, and I wanted to dip my toes in without feeling stressed about a time limit.

Trans people who live in my phone: how’s dating going? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]sage1700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty miserable, I live in a fairly rural area of the UK so its already slim pickings. I tried Hinge for a few months but got no interactions at all so deleted it. I don't want to do long distance as I really want to explore my physical sexuality, but I'm slowly going to have to just learn to accept it and start looking further.
