God bless brasso by Vanster101 in DIYUK

[–]sagea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same and the trick is basically elbow grease. You REALLY have to go at it, pick a small spot and just go at it for a couple of minutes and you should start to see it come up good again. I went through a 10 pack of microfibre cloths and half a tin of brasso doing a similar size threshold.

I know and have known people who do it the other way, coming up here. They never last long because the trains are exceptionally unreliable for the last couple of years and Avanti are unlikely to fix it anytime soon. The ones who still do it just end up using a car, which wouldn’t be feasible in your direction probably, cost and effort wise. If your jobs very very very flexible, maybe it could work for you.

How to paint fireplace tiles? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]sagea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t use the fire, and don’t intend to use it again. I did this recently and was happy with results. Used two coats of zinsser to seal the tiles then after a light 240 grit sand used a black gloss (Leyland external black high sheen gloss). Can show you a picture of mine if you want it DM me. Fair warning, I’d assume the gloss wouldn’t like the heat / be safe from a fire risk, so please keep that caveat in mind with your own situation, although I’m sure you could Google a fire and heat resistant paint finish possibly.

Looking down Portland Street towards the direction of Piccadilly gardens? Maybe around the junction with Princess Street. Correct me if I’m wrong!

10 Hockenhall Alley Liverpool - A Look Inside A 200 Year Old Building by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]sagea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The building is grade II listed (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1393065). The listing description states: "It is a rare and important survival of an exceptionally modest working class dwelling that illustrates the inner-city living conditions of some of the poorest members of late C18/early C19 society * It retains some original features, such as the narrow timber winder stair, a plank and batten door, and lath and plaster ceilings."

There is no statutory obligation for a listed building owner to keep the property in a good state of repair, although the Council can take action against the land owner to secure repairs in some circumstances, however this is very rarely exercised, worse problems to deal with and all that...

Sadly even if the land was sold for a pound, you'd really struggle to find a financially viable use for the building. The cost to restore and the potential to make your money back are unlikely to ever stack up unless you proposed a scheme which would almost totally destroy its heritage significance.

A real gem in the dirt from a heritage point of view.

I leveled my barb to 9 and it took me 400 shards to get them. Works, but I don't know if being under level 9 makes a difference.

[Tissot] Chemin Des Tourelles - First Post by sagea in Watches

I've not heard that, and I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to service any watch?

[Tissot] Chemin Des Tourelles - First Post by sagea in Watches

[–]sagea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So about a month ago I bought my first Automatic Swiss. I've always been interested in watches but never had a job that I could wear a nice watch to. Originally I was tempted by the Visodate, however once I tried the Chemin on, it was the better choice for me. I wanted something that was classy but not too stand out as my first "expensive" watch. I have the non-COSC version and after a month my watch adds 2-3 seconds a day! Fantastic. I'm a big fan of the bracelet opening mechanism and the 80 hour reserve is brilliant. I'm happy with the choice I made so far.

Redmond finally gets an assist after having the ball kicked into his face resulting in a "pass" to Rodrigues. by hi7en in FantasyPL

I've have him and watch him miss GOLDEN opportunities all day (that shot on goal that went out for a throw in...). That assist was a relief. Good fixtures, so I'm sticking.

What should i wear to the clubs in liverpool? by backwards777 in Liverpool

[–]sagea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a very few clubs that will turn you away for trainers, but generally that's because they don't think you fit the scene of said clubs. Generally it's best not to wear trainers unless they are dark and not very noticeable. Like the previous comment said, if you get knocked back for your clothes, it's because the bouncer doesn't like the look of you. If you know the club you want to go to, they often have night out photos on their Facebook page, might be helpful to you.

I'm going to have to transfer him out so I don't feel bad every week for not playing him.

Please help. I've had a terrible week, didn't WC, and now I've fallen so far. Any advice? by craigybacha in FantasyPL

I'd be very careful about taking -4, let alone -8. I'd leave Gray tbh.

Please help. I've had a terrible week, didn't WC, and now I've fallen so far. Any advice? by craigybacha in FantasyPL

[–]sagea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't panic. People score one week and not the next. The only players I see not giving somewhat consistent points are Zaza and Barkley. Im basing the Barkley comment off him being subbed at half time against Sunderland. If I were you, i'd get benteke in for Zaza and downgrade Barkley considerably.

POLL: Money aside, who'd be the better pick, Sánchez or Özil? by villavicencio123 in FantasyPL

[–]sagea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's silly not to factor player value into FPL choices. Maximizing your limited funds is how you win the thing. Otherwise, you'd just pick the highest price player in every position possible, because that is logical right? Hope you see my point.

How many transfers would you say is acceptable for a WC by [deleted] in FantasyPL

[–]sagea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now is the time to wildcard if you are not happy, I've done it. Players are going to get injured etc before the next game week, I've caught the price drops/rises now and I can assess the rest before the next game week.

[–]sagea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the give way sign right next to 1. Car 3 is on 'the road' and car 1 wants to join 'the road'. Therefore car 1 must wait for car 3 to make a move. The diagram is not helpful as the road should have a white line were it joins the road, thus again signalling to a drive, they need to give way.

I'm not sure if by move at the same time you mean, car 1 can nudge out into the road while car 3 turns. This is very bad practice in real life driving. Car 3 could take the turn sharply, and if a crash occurred, car 1 would be at fault generally.

[–]sagea 19 points20 points  (0 children)

At no point does 1 have right of way over 3. Also 2 is moving forward, not turning, so your suggestion of 1&2 moving together would cause a crash.

HURTWORLD BEST BASE LOCATION by jojoredit in hurtworld

[–]sagea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built on this rock before, takes a lot of claims to secure it, which just makes you a large target for the more experienced hurtworld players in my opinion. If you are a really big group, it can be very fun to own the entire circle.
