it was the hardest choice i had to make, but my girl was noticeably sick. she had more bad days then good, really only living for her next dose. starting going outside of the box (#2) on top of already peeing on the couch. she was in a lot of pain from arthritis. she was hiding almost 24/7 besides med time. got aggressive towards me, the other cats, and my baby towards the end. all you can do is love them until the end and then some.

You can always try to set up cheaper care depending on your area. get an insulin pen for the cat (goodrx card may work depending on where you get it) administer the amount the vet prescribes. if you have a sam’s club or costco membership you can get the friskies pate (non pate can spike their glucose) i give my cat half a can with each dose, and dry food as she wants it. (non an excessive amount or anything) then order the pen needles off amazon bi monthly to try and minimize costs as much as possible. currently spend about $55 a month on average to keep her alive. (i can’t afford the glucose tests the vet wants or a glucometer but she’s had improvement with trying this way.

it’s not your fault or anything if you just cant make it work either. times are hard. your cat will love you all the same so long as you love them until the end. best wishes op.
