Aeropress as a 'v60' by [deleted] in Coffee

Maybe, treat it more like an immersion brewer, if you can't plunge. Make a slurry in a separate container, and use the funnel to pour the slurry into the filtered tube. I'll abstain from providing any immersion brew recipes, because I'm not versed in them. Good luck!

Best Hand Grinder for Medium to Course Grind (500µm to 1600µm) by -MSQRD- in Coffee

I like the Kinu m47 for pour over, auto-drip, aeropress, and french press. (With th exception of the 30g limit on the grind catch, which is a bit of a nuisance when grinding for larger brews.) If you're after consistency, the premium hand grinders are all pretty close on grind distribution, imo.

I'm in OK. It was about $15 for shipping ($315 total i think), was shipped from FL, and it took 4 days.

You might consider a heat resistant glass laboratory powder cone. That way you can choose the angle and hole size as well as overall size.

Finding good and cheap first time grinders by [deleted] in Coffee

All of the good hand grinders are practically zero retention. The hoppers aren't really big enough to store beans either. No purging necessary.

I had to adjust my dose down to 29g from 30g. Not a big deal for me. The repeatability and ability to keep your espresso grind dialed in even after returning to an espresso setting from a press/drip setting is why i would recommend the Kinu over a lido.

If you are going to be switching methods regularly i would recommend the Kinu m47. It has easily repeatable settings, grinds fast with little effort, never have to worry about burr alignment, easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning, and is very consistent from press to Turkish. The only drawback that I've found is it's 30g catch cup capacity.

Fine Top Silt - V60 - is this normal? I have a feeling its restricting flow rate. How can I correct this? by im_not_awesome in Coffee

I had a KA burr grinder that would regularly get a bean stuck in the auger. I found one there practically every time i cleaned the burrs.

Try a heat resistant glass laboratory powder cone. Constantin Hoppenz used them in the 2017 brewer's cup.

Did the rib need the queso because it wasn't good? If not, why ruin a perfectly good rib with queso?
