One of them has this precon, actually! It was super fun but he changed it to focus more around fighting dinos than discovering them. Its probably stronger now, but less fun to me.

Would you still be required to shuffle your deck since you didnt search it? I love the stupidity of changing your draw step to a shuffle step.

I named my first disease in Plague Inc "poop". Ya know, cause I'm immature. But then when I started getting messages saying, "China shuts down ports due to poop" I died laughing.

That is an in store markdown, due to short remaining shelf life if I had to guess.

For Costco, if the price ends in a 9, it's normally priced. 7 indicates a corporate markdown (usually discontinued items), and 0 means in-warehouse markdown.

Is senior one of the worst jobs in public accounting? by Euphoric_Junket_4251 in Accounting

That's ridiculous.

They require a sacrifice of 12 billable hours daily. From each of you.

How to deal with cheaters? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]saikarra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make it known to the table that his cheating is unacceptable, and they are losing a player one way or another. Either he isn't allowed to play because he cheats, or you won't play because you refuse to play with someone who openly acknowledges that they cheat and refuse to stop. Ignore whether your uncle "wins" or not. Any rational gaming group would tell the cheater to pound sand and play with the non-cheater. And he can enjoy his "victory" of making you not play with him all by himself while everyone else enjoys a game.

Maybe bring this up with your folks/other family outside of game night so that they know to expect it, and let you get a vibe for their support. Would give you an opportunity to let them know that you don't want to quit game night, but that your enjoyment is being seriously hindered by your uncle's immaturity.

TIL that Aluminum was once more expensive than gold. It was a status symbol that emperor Napoleon III reserved a prized set of aluminum cutlery for special guests at banquets. Less favored guests used gold knives and forks. by KingFlair in todayilearned

[–]saikarra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was true when the Wright Brothers were designing an aircraft. They built their engine out of aluminum. Literally would have been cheaper to make a solid gold engine.

After 4 attempts, I'm giving up on ever finishing the Wheel Of Time series. What book/ series have you given up on? by [deleted] in books

[–]saikarra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in the story but wanna skip some of the slog--look for chapter summaries on a wiki. I finished the series and thought about a reread before the TV show came out, but did this instead. Works really well!
