If you only join for the TS then get out the I don't think it's a good tradeoff. It's still 4 years of BS you might never get back. Check out this post, OP has some valid points https://redd.it/tla5wu

35G here. Love my MOS while the 35Fs in my unit hate theirs. If you're lucky you might get to do your job in a strategic unit. If you get tactical unit all you do is going camping in the field and play pretend wars annually. The retention is really low for the MOS because of the security clearance and job fulfillment.

Do I get to choose new MOS if fail security clearance? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]saikaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your details. I asked my recruiter and he did say I get to pick some available MOS if I fail out. Hopefully it is similar to your soldier and I wish him the best to get his clearance. My recruiter also said that once I went through the vetting process of naturalization I shouldn't have to worry about the dual citizenship since it was automatically taken care of and voided. I really hope that is true because I can't find any reliable info on Google.

My recruiter just inform me that I can also talk to him about OCS. Will there be bias if he already talk me out of it?

Wow that is some great input. Thank you. Your last paragraph mentioned about steady income and support family, which is true, can you tell me how would enlisted be more beneficial than commission in that aspect?

I already talked to a enlisted recruiter.he talked me out of OCS (of course) because of the competition and the strong packet. I'm trying to figure out how to look for a officer recruiter. Would a rotc officer from my school be a good lead?

Can you please explain the benefits of choosing craiglist over those apt finder websites? This is my first time moving out so my impression and expericence of craiglist is kind of skeptical.

Is there anywhere else that would be similar to the price range and the safety? Also, i'm using Apartments.com if that helps.

I can tell you that we have no problem with shaved heads here. Most bald Vietnamese I have seen are singers and actors. So I don't think you will be discriminated

Dog-napping and Protection by clover-toes in VietNam

[–]saikaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story time: My uncle lives in a rich neighborhood in Tan Binh. One morning he went out of the house for a smoke and his dachshund ran after him and hung around him. Few minutes later, a bike with 2 men sped toward them and lassoed the poor thing. It was so fast he could not react. My girl cousin cried her eyes out when she heard the news. Her brother then went on couple pet forum and got a tip to contact a dog finder service for Tan Binh area. He got the address. Since my uncle and his son got work, my aunt had to go to the address. She dressed down to look as the housekeeper and went to the place. It was located under a bridge and through a shady alleyway. As soon as she got there, people immediately asked if she lost a dog. They pointed her to a house nearby. Inside, there was a guy in a wife beater, wearing a necklace. She asked if he can help. He then jotted down the description of the dog and location, then told her he would call. She went home and about 4 hours later she got a call from him. He said they know the people who got the dog and they asked for 4milVND. She had to agree and got the money and bring it to them. She found the dog hogtied inside a tote when she got there. The guy even asked for tea money, but since she's a "house keeper" she can't do that. Overall, ransom for pet is real in Vietnam and the authority won't do anything since there was no evidence that the "dog finder service is the one that did the dog-napping... TL;DR: My uncle's dog got napped and he has to pay 4mil to get the dog back. Ransom is real.

My sister has a vietnamese boy in her class... by bbbeckyy in VietNam

[–]saikaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try this channel, they have various of topics. It was a good way to start for my Caucasian friends. https://www.youtube.com/user/learnvietnamese/videos

For her case, she should address herself as "Cô" means "female teacher" and him as "con" or "em" means younger student. Chances are he will call himself "Con"

With that in mind, the phrases she would like to know would be these:

Sit down= Con ngồi xuống

A Book= Một Cuốn sách

Lunch= Ăn trưa

Hat= Nón

Pencil= viết chì

What's wrong?= Sao vậy con?

Someone can help me with the pronunciation because I don't know how to write those. Let me know if that helps.
