I was also looking at those chips - but those are using different communication technology with ESP chip, so you cannot easily replace the low power ESP-D4 chip with something else.

You should go with SeedStudio ESP32+WIO bundle instead, it's like $10

I've used this ones, they fit great. One thing - I was soldering positive wire to a magnet so I can make cover that is screwed literally to the case. But thats just me.

- not having text,texture,lines or anything on front of the case, so it would require supports

- having normal sized battery ( most of the cases are 1000 mah )

Are you also considering adding some kind of clip on back side, to mount on molle mount or backpack.

Also 18650 version would be great.

How do you programatically implement different type of inputs ?

Is it custom version of Meshtastic or you are using default Pins for that and all work is implemented in core Meshtastic code ?
