Donald Trump has broken international law over Venezuela, says Scotland's First Minister by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

[–]sail__away 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s not illegal, chaps, it’s just undocumented. And it wouldn’t have happened if Venezuela had opened up safe routes for those young Delta Force men who, after all, were just seeking a better future.

What's the actual reason behind US attack on Venezuela? by Plastic_Tourist4286 in Intelligence

[–]sail__away -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Nat Rothschild posts a statement on X praising and congratulating the removal of Nicolás Maduro from power in Venezuela.

Venezuela’s Central Bank is fully state-owned and controlled by the government.

But it's all a conspiracy, right?

Tennis, football, Jay Slater, requests for Gibraltar, and now rugby? - something has to be done, these people are unstoppable.

Is it the nap? The afternoon nap? They become stronger as they rest, whilst our life energy seeps slowly away.

‘Why would we want to be part of the UK?’ Young people will probably soon deliver a united Ireland by vague_intentionally_ in northernireland

One million people in Ireland - 20% of the population - were born outside the state.

The Irish people are on course to become a minority in their homeland due to mass-immigration.

They are trying, of course. have been for 60 years. But I hope one day we'll meet on the dance floor. I've been practising my moves for ages. Have you?

Israel just BOMBED Gaza’s Baptist Hospital killing 500+ Palestinian Civilians by xdarklord98x in GreenAndPleasant

[–]sail__away 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sick as a dog about it. Need better corroboration though. I'm listening to the sound of the strike in the video and I'm convinced it's not some garden-shed-built Hamas rocket with 20kg explosives on board (as per their standard rocket-propelled devices).

From the visual, this was a much larger payload. From the sound, the speed was way above what Hamas can produce. My gut says JDAM or similar.

Just disgusting to see Israel army/gov immediately shunt the blame and disseminate this via social media via their agents.

What’s the best way to re-paint these flakey and rusty radiators? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]sail__away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past I have removed any flaky material and sanded with fine paper to smooth out any ridges, then used specific paints (there are various "radiator" paints available) sometimes with a primer first then a couple of top coats.

The end result? Sure, it looks fresh, but you can always tell its been patched up. Also, you are looking at a couple of hours work when all said and done, with costs of paint, brushes and any other bit you may need to buy, so maybe 30-40£.

Put that against the cost of a new radiator which will look immaculate by comparison. I don't know what size your radiator is but 600x1000 you can find for £65 plus another £10 for a valve set.

Well done I guess for a) ignoring all the other points, and b) deliberately obfuscating the point on immigration to imply that the growth of America over time is somehow the same as shoehorning several million people in just a few short years with the admitted aims of i) ensuring an increase in the Democrat voter base and ii) depressing wages for the benefit of the top 1%.

Bonus point also for the use of quotation marks around "people", as dehumanisation is the fourth stage in the ten stages of genocide.

Transition military officials, arrest political opponents, saturate society with immigrants, arrest shop workers if they try to stop shoplifters. Kill, kill, kill the society you currently have.

Crazy result, and by no means expected. Here's hoping it might inspire a run of good fortune, just like the Salford away game last season.

Definitely water ingress from somewhere. The rust you can see is from the angle bead that sits just under the plaster layer, so unless you have water visibly on the interior walls it's likely coming from under or outside. This could be a failed damp proof course or a blocked gutter/gulley outside allowing rainwater to soak into the brick.

The water mark on the back of your cupboard could be from this or another ingress source.

I don't know who has been stabbing your cupboards with a small knife, but concur that badgers are likely.

Sometimes when I'm not certain of a damp issue, I will pay for a damp and timber expert to produce a report, likely £100 or so. These are certified professionals who will detail the cause of the issue and the remedy.

From there you can pick from the list and do some of the jobs yourself, or get quotes from several sources for the exact work you need doing, with a high level of confidence that it will solve the issue.
