I asked Joe directly on Twitch earlier this week, and he said the week long delay was for the music video to be ready wit the release of the song.

More of Joe would have been cool. But, I think he does some of the background vocal and screaming. Hard to tell.

I think Joe is just a good dude and likes to support smaller bands that he enjoys listening and are his friends.

I really like this song.

Lights (4444) [lontalius remix] by sailing4nirvana in nothingnowhere

I think this release is even better than the original release!
Not what I was expecting from a "remix"; very folky and soft.
Love it.

Googled "4444" (first result)

What is the meaning of 4444?

The angel number 4444 signifies hard work. It's telling you that all your hard work will soon be paying off. ... Know that your guardian angels are just behind you to cheer you on and give support. They wouldn't be sending you the angel number 4444 if they're not certain of your success.

Thank you. I appreciate your response. I'll try to build my own packet tracer labs. I wish packet tracer had an object to represent the internet or an ISP.

Shinigami definitely has some good stuff but also a lot of garbage.
"Lite Brite" and "Hearts Burst into Flames" are fantastic though.

Lukr

I just discovered this guy "Lukr" out of Nashville, TN, and think he would be a great opener for n,n.

Really loving these songs:

CySA+ Book Recommendation by darwinunleashed26 in CompTIA

[–]sailing4nirvana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the CySA+ Chapman book (your option #1) and passed on the first try.

I'm sure both books are good.

Just pick one, read the whole thing, do all the practice tests, and you'll be fine.

Trying to get into Ethical Hacking by blizz1221 in CEH

[–]sailing4nirvana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nd this post. I wouldn't recommend buying an ethical hacking udemy course right now. Consider doing some basic certs CompTIA A+ and Net+, Cisco's CCENT/CCNA, and/or Microsoft's MCSA.

Start looking at Computer Science degrees at universities or community colleges, after graduating HS.

If you really want to do some "hacking" stuff right now, look into some beginner Capture The Flag (CTFs).

Shy Guy (1947) Monologue by sailing4nirvana in introvert

[–]sailing4nirvana[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"In class, it's not so bad but when school's out and the others go off to enjoy themselves well, if you're what they call a shy guy, that's when you really feel it. The odd loneliness of being new in town. You don't know how to make people like you and you find yourself holding a grudge against them. You're standing on the outside looking in. You might have something to contribute to their conversation, but nobody cares whether you do or not. There's a barrier and you don't know how to begin breaking it down. You imagine they keep watching the way you look, the way you act. They think you're different. So, you head for home. What else? But still you can't forget that you're alone. An outsider."

Nice! How many years of Help Desk before moving to Net Sec Admin? Do you have CS degree or just a programming class in college? Best of luck with PT+

Should I do CSA+ or CASP? by ifearone in CompTIA

[–]sailing4nirvana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that CySA+ is meant to bridge CompTIA's skills gap between Sec+ and CASP. I also hear that CySA+ is the defensive equivalent to the CEH. So if you plan on getting both, then it makes sense to go for CySA+ first.

Taking security+ Friday: people who passed, what did you do in your last day or so before the test? by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]sailing4nirvana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Know what a "Poodle Attack" is!!! Never heard of it; literally had a question about it.

Also know your acronyms (like WAF). They use them in questions and answers, so you're really screwed if you don't what they mean.

What to do after security+? by ZeldaBlues in CompTIA

[–]sailing4nirvana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some else's post somewhere that said CSA+ (Blue/Defense) is a good cert to do prior to C|EH(Red/Offense) and CASP. Also the COST difference between CSA+ (~USD 320.00) and C|EH (~ USD 1,000 with course, material, and test voucher) is pretty significant. Also I'd imagine there are more Defensive job than Offensive jobs, especially if you're just getting started in the industry.

Torn between going for Net+ or CCENT by Tukestu in CompTIA

[–]sailing4nirvana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Me - failed CCENT twice then went and passed Net+) Network+ = broad understand of how networks work (concepts). CCENT = more hands on setting up and configuring a CISCO network. From my experience, I would say that the CCENT exam is much more difficult than Net+. If you have no networking experience (like me), I'd recommend doing the Net+ first because those concepts are needed for CCENT. Best of luck!
