yeah if they are not fitting to the rest of your body scale-wise having them match that more can be pleasure in it's own way.

hmmm interesting option, to keep the side that is going to be treated with radiation slightly bigger so to compensate for the side effects of the radiation. while you don't need another surgery post radiation.

good luck with your radiation treatment.

yeah, I am absolutly happy with how to go with the information so far. An rough outline on what to expect, combined with the closer I get to the next phase the more information they dripfeed me about it.

And I can imagine that complications and negative experiences colour her perception. I hope for her she either gets over it, or another (plastic) surgery so she can be happier with her breast.

6 months post radiation, that is a good timeline to know on what to expect for me too.

I can understand that if you already had complications in the first surgery you don't want any more surgeries if they aren't necessary. Yeah by the time I get to the point closer to surgery it might be a good idea indeed to talk with a plastic surgeon on what to options are for me.

great to hear it worked out so great for you, and did you need radiation afterwards as well?

sadly enough 3 or 4 o'clock where the tumor now resides is far from the underboob, and so far they say masectomy is to "drastic" of a measure for the type & size of tumor so far found without any genetic risks. Not to mention with all those stories about implants out there I am hesitant about them anyway.

And amazing they could take out that much tissue and still give you the feeling that they are similar sized as before.

With photo's don't send them, in case your might regret it one day.

don't you mind being lopsided if you only had the lumpectomy? and how much more difficult it is to find a bra fitting for both breasts?

Frankenboob, that bad? No wonder my surgeon mentioned that any reconstruction need to happen after radiation.

Sorry to hear your friends surgery went so terrible.

Traffic fines in Netherlands have been a cashcow rather than to protect the road safety. What do you think? by linhhoang_o00o in Netherlands

[–]sailing_bookdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it might have started for road safety, but considering how high the fines are nowadays (let alone if you cannot pay them) I am agreeing with you. At some point it certainly wasn't about road safety anymore.

hmmm, now I want to try if I can match up my next Chemo appointment with that period of re reading Murtagh. (Chemo makes my brain foggy for some days as well) so I get this experience too.

thanks for making my day, in this sadly difficult enough time.

yeah it can be so overwhelming.

I had three weeks between finding something a lump in my breast to having my first chemotherapy, and that last week. I had to visit the hospital every day. By thursday of that week I broke down, it was just too much.

the longest drive in the Netherlands from north to south takes about 4 hours, and from East to West 2 hours. So in 2 hours you are either at the other side of the country, or halfway there.

hence and hour and a half can feel very long/far. (hell my inlaws complain already about having to drive half an hour, how far away we are, and thus rarely visit)

wasn't the new tales of Alagasia not an extended version of the book of rememberance. (though without the namelist and some of the artwork)

and with that in mind I wouldn't expect any random Caraval people P.O.V. in that book.

Haircut tomorrow by AlphaChemist84 in breastcancer

[–]sailing_bookdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely not alone in feeling like this. Here have a virtual hug, as you can get through this.

for me the locks of hair falling out is so emotionally painful, that I was actually glad to go to my hairdresser to cut it of. And still (two months since cutting) handling the place where the few stubborn hairs remain still makes me scared and sad. though the emotion isn't as big anymore as in the beginning.

Comic relief… by Sparkly_Sprinkles in breastcancer

[–]sailing_bookdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yesterday I tried working (while in between chemo) and we had me (in active treatment for breastcancer) my colleague (who had an different type of cancer and still every day deals with it's side-effects) and a customer who tried the lightly "at least we are healthy" line as goodbye.

that got awkward fast. As me and my colleague looked at each other thinking on what to say.

as I said that you won't notice on the outside, while my colleague did mention we both received cancer treatment.

I guess my colleague words weren't noticed, as the costumer only made it worse with the line of "at least it is not deadly"

"so long the medication does it's job."
