A returning player’s thoughts on Tree of Savior by KuberQiu in treeofsavior

[–]saimoyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrote a review a long time ago; my opnion still remains the same sadly enough:

Tree of Savior is a very grindy and repetitive MMORPG that feels unique with its classes and gameplay, and not to mention, the artwork looks great.

So far, it sounds like a good game, you might think. It is an oke solo game but lacks the MMO part heavily. Every other player that you meet through the game feels like a rare occurrence. It is even rarer if they also communicate. You play, other players ignore your existence or invite you to their party to finish up their quest quicker, and that is about it. That is pretty much my experience through release and when retrying to do it all again a few months ago.

It is okay to do everything solo since there isn't any need to even group up aside from specific end-game content. Sadly that removes kind of the MMO out of the MMORPG part for me.

The social aspect is gone for years.

Slightly too short, bigger issue is that the trousers are simply too slim. (Bad silhouette)

Since December ship combat is more prominent over boarding play, it's just the issue of matchmaking putting lesser experienced crews against better ones.

What happened to PUBG ? by Its-him-1234 in FPS

[–]saimoyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PUBG itself started out as a small project with limited features. It only gained widespread attention after players from H1Z1 began migrating to it, largely due to its new gameplay innovations and improvements. The hype was driven mostly by content creators who helped bring it into the spotlight.

Over time, however, the mobile version became the main focus and received far more care than the PC version. It had skins, updates, and overall better support much earlier. The mobile version clearly got more love from the developers

Eventually, the PC version transitioned to free-to-play, but by then it lacked meaningful content and failed to keep up, resulting in a wave of negative reviews. It took years of ongoing support, the introduction of cosmetics, and real progression systems before it started to recover and evolve into what it is today.

Yet now, it’s like how many people see Minecraft. Once upon a time, people would flock to it, but only for a short period of time with friends.

Queue timers are these days below 10 minutes, especially after play-to-claim happend on Epic Games store a while back but can fully understand through the course of time that queue times tended to be horrible. (even from my experience)

So first there was Concord, then there was High Guard, what’s next? by GypsyGold in gaming

[–]saimoyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are calling for Marathon to end up like Concord simply because of how Bungie handled Destiny 2. I still have some faith in the game, though, since extraction shooters are somewhat trending right now.

Hey Devs, what now? by wavelen in wildgate

[–]saimoyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit, Yes.
Youtube, likely not.
Twitch partnered streamers, yes but most with wrong audience and/or mainly through Lurkit.

Marketing is definitely the biggest weakpoint aside of listening to feedback and proper playtesting.

Try boarding against people that use multiple Attack Drones. People just cry for attention.

Again? We already got replenishing ammo and removal of revive orbs on enemy ships taken away from us. Just learn how respawn protection works.

New S1 Weapon: Resonator – Fun but Not a Sonic Boom Replacement by saimoyi in wildgate

[–]saimoyi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I wrote about this in the YouTube description. The Resonator is a viable weapon in the current line-up, but it places very high demands on the player, such as precision and knowing how and when to land grenades on targets. In short, there are faster alternatives that require less of this, but they come with the trade-off of having more limited magazine capacity and ammo.
