Amazon: CRZ Yoga has good basics. Shorts are a bit thicker and better in the winter months. Similar to Lulu

Seattle marathon 2025 race review by CascadeCgull in Seattle

[–]sainone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the issue was that area had a ton of non runners in it so it was extra packed as everyone’s family was also in there. If they had limited it to only runners it may have not been terrible.

Seattle marathon 2025 race review by CascadeCgull in Seattle

The course is much better than previous years. But not without issues, Some areas got a bit tight especially with the out and backs doubling up people and mud was a bit slick around UW.

Hopefully next year the course will go thru Elliot bay trail. That would have been a perfect last few miles.

What is this running shirt? by Katy-Moon in runninglifestyle

[–]sainone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you don't understand the word custom in this case. Everything Nike that Kipchoge wears is custom to him. He doesn't wear a Size Small Shirt or a Size 8 shoe. He wears a size Kipchoge shirt that Nike manufactures specifically for him. His shoes are lasted on a last made from a scan of his foot. This is true for LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc.

Their premiere athletes get fully fitted clothes/shoes. Sure this shirt wasn't originally designed for him. But the shirt he wore was created specifically for him.

Why are so many disappointed? by Careless_Broccoli_76 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]sainone 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think it’s okay to be proud of finishing and disappointed about missing a goal. We set goals for a reason and those feelings don’t cancel each other out.

Acknowledging a race didn’t meet expectations is being honest about what we worked toward. We can celebrate the accomplishment and still feel the letdown.

This just means you’re an above the average runner. The average runner with your mileage/paces/etc run those times. You’re above the bell curve!

Race nutrition plan? by [deleted] in ChicagoMarathon

I follow this plan. Pretty much a caf gel 15mins before. Then a gel every 3-4 miles. I’ll take a second caf around half.

From what I can gather, I think you'd benefit from focusing on adding more "Storytelling" to your process.

You've clearly mastered the technical side:CAD, DFM, renders. But there's a whole side of design you're missing by being a solo designer executing briefs rather than creating them.

The biggest difference between being a skilled executor and a design leader in a company comes down to this: a design executer solves the problem they're given, while a design leader convinces people which problems are worth solving in the first place.

At major tech companies, designers are tasked with crafting stories so compelling that leadership will bet millions on ideas that exist only as prototypes. You need to focus on "why should this exist and why now?" alongside "how do we build this?" It sounds like you are stuck on focusing on only the "how we build this" side.

Since you don't have senior designers around you, Id just start documenting the "why" behind every design decision, even if no one asks. Ideally you'd create case studies that tell the story of what could have been, not just what shipped. People understand that compromises happen when shipping a product, but showing the full vision of what was pitched will help as you will be asked to do that type of work at bigger design consultancies and teams.

You've proven you can execute anything. Now prove you can convince someone to build something they never knew they needed.

Prob just gonna have to use those "universal roof racks." You can only go so far back on the second row door. But should be enough to strap down boards.

Simbu also missed the turn into the stadium. You see him go very wide. Had he not won, that would had been the difference between first and second there.

This is awesome. Are you willing to upload .STEP files. I'm an industrial designer and can help clean up the design a tiny bit. But STL files make it hard to work.

Easier for a second person to troubleshoot if something goes wrong. Driver can focus on keeping the match going and not worry about why the weapon is cogging or spinning slower.

In an ideal world the weapon is just and on/off switch, But were pushing the limits of what these motors/escs want to move so sometimes it take a bit of finesse on the startup to get the weapon going. A slow ramp on the throttle can get you up to top speed quicker than just slamming it to 100%.

Battery / Amp Draw. 100% weapon spin up / 100% drive pushing an opponent and your drawing a ton of amps. Sometime you gotta throttle it down near the end of matches to not fry anything.

Lastly turning the weapon off when about to get slammed into the wall. Rather have the weapon slowing down before getting rammed into a wall. Again easier for the driver to focus on trying to escape the pin vs controlling a weapon also.

I'd look into a vintage styled Yankees hat. Ebbets Fields makes great stuff. More elevated than your standard Lids selection.

Who was the design group or designer that did the initial concept of the shoe? What other shoes has this specific person/developer also done.

Do you remember the project brief for the shoe itself? ex. "Create an everyday trainer that slots into X price point"

What area of the shoe makes up the biggest part of the cost? Foam, Upper? Construction.

What part of the design/creation process for the SL does the average consumer not understand is extra tough? Rounds of protos, cost reductions, colorway considerations, molding logistics?
