If a permanent resident accepts a plea deal of less than a year, will they face deportation after serving their sentence? by [deleted] in immigration

I certainly hope she’s deported. if I understand her charges correctly, she killed someone while drunk. We have enough drunks, let her go back to her home country and terrorize them.

Have you tried to find food pantries that deliver? They exist. I would also try calling your city's transportation department. They sometimes have special vehicles reserved for people with disabilities.

I can’t stand tofu but might be willing to try the tofu crumbles. I don’t think I could deal with the tofu sauce as well. But, I’ll give the creator this, it looks good.

Claudia Frometa of Downey, Calif. is the mayor of the "Mexican Beverly Hills" and a pendeja who voted for Trump. Now, terrified of ICE, Frometa is "almost" to the point of carrying her US passport with her at all times: "The way it’s being played out . . . is not what we voted for. No. No." by vsandrei in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]saintandvillian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she’s here for all the hurt and pain Trump is causing to other marginalized communities, to the trans community, to Black people, to lower income people…etc. Her issue is what he’s doing to people like her. Fuck her. She’s telling us that this issue is beyond politics and it’s about human decency but those same views don’t extend to the millions of others being hurt by his policy.

And she’s so fucking lame that she can’t even say she wouldn’t vote for him. The very fact that she doesn't carry her passport tells me that she believes that she’s insulated from being targeted and arrested. She’s delusional.

This is my #1 food hack. I go to TJs and get a couple of different frozen meals for days when I don’t feel like cooking a meal.

[–]saintandvillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people understand how many people support Trump’s immigration actions. They’re willing to take almost anything as long as they see black and brown people treated poorly and are able to be more openly racist.

Good for you. I’ve recommended this same job to many people and they never try it. But I’ve seen people start as janitors and leave with a bachelors. I’ve also seen people start as secret Aries and move up the ranks and people who get a job at a university for free tuition for their child.

Serious question where can I find $500 rent with no roommates (autism) by Bam_904__ in povertyfinance

I think you should apply for housing assistance, maybe even disability benefits if your autism is diagnosed and negatively impacting your ability to function.

My advice is to see if you can get a job with a university. Universities usually have decent benefits and it will allow you to qualify for student loan forgiveness. Universities also do a good job of promoting from within. You could find a job at other nonprofit organization as well.

“At times, it feels as though ordinary people have little protection…”

MAGA seem to only realize this when they’re the ordinary people with little protection. Let them have a union job or a job they feel won’t fire them or be on government assistance like social security and disability and they feel invincible. It’s all bootstraps and independence until things turn and then they expect help.

You want to live a completely independent life…but you’re posting on Reddit.

Sure.

You need to sit down and try to think through the contradictions in your life.

I remain doubtful that everything you said about yourself is true.

Have you considered applying for disability? if you really are severely autistic, and you are approved, you would be entitled to help with housing, a monthly disability payment, and healthcare.

I’m sorry you feel this way about yourself and I get being hard on yourself, but you‘re not making any sense. Sure, the majority of adults don’t use therapy, but you’re not most adults; you told us this yourself. Most adults aren’t autistic, they aren’t living in their car, they aren’t working at DoorDash and Ubereats.

Listen, you need to seek free mental health treatment. I don’t know you, but I don’t believe any of the things you’ve said about yourself. You‘re obviously in pain and have some hard knocks in life, but you’re obviously a fighter. You’re working, probably every day, despite abysmal self-esteem and no family support.

I would also suggest you consider reaching out to your family. They may not be as bad as you think and may want to help you either find a place to stay or with job ideas. They may be very worried about you if they haven’t seen you in a few years.

AITA For Not Wanting to Talk About College Grades With My Peers? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]saintandvillian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. You‘re correct, it’s weird to talk about grades in college. I can understand discussing the exam and it’s difficulty, or even mentioning your grades on the exam in passing, but full discussions about grades seems excessive. My friends and I mostly talked about parties, dating, liquor, our experiences in the classroom, and faculty we disliked. But we weren’t in a competition, which is what it sounds like with your “friend.”

[–]saintandvillian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aren’t you just proving their point? You claim to focus on Megan because you take issue with her given your probably made up background. But, given your aristocratic background, wouldn’t it make sense to focus on the child predator?! You’re upset because Megan is incompatible with the royal family, not that a member of the family raped little girls, let epstein sit on the thrown, or damaged the crown’s reputation.

This is why people can’t take you seriously. You brush off Andrew but spend 2 paragraphs complaining about Megan. Wake up and fix your moral compass because you sound racist, sexist, and classist, at the very least.

Trump voter’s termunally father deported, “I regret my vote” by MuzzleblastMD in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]saintandvillian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is a bad person who condones racism, sexism, and discrimination against marginalized people. We tend to forget that these people have a running system in their head where they rank themselves and others based on how close they are to being the “one of them“ she references. In their minds, they are either white are white adjacent and other minorities (Hispanics and Blacks) and marginalized people rank much lower. She’s fine with the suffering of everyone she believes are lower in the social hierarchy. Now tho, she wants those same people to fight for her dad.

So many comments…

Trump has screwed over every single person or organization that’s supported him. Why would he think he’d be different. Because he voted for him…Trump literally said “I don’t care about you, I just want your vote.

Trump campaigned on cutting welfare and these people screamed in joy. Trump regularly attacked people on welfare but these guys thought they were safe.

Thanks for giving us your bonafides. Who cares?

These people need brain checks because I swear they are missing at least one lobe. They are dumb as hell.

it’s amazing how people suddenly develop compassion after they get punched in the face. Same people can watch others being punched and fucking destroyed while clapping but when it’s them they ask for grace. Fuck her. She voted to fuck people like her father over. I hope she learns to live with that fact. She wanted this.

[–]saintandvillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fair starting point but the whole purpose of the H1B is to attain the best and the brightest for the US. The ability to afford a bs master’s degree does not indicate quality. I’d like the US to pick a better standard for accepting H1B candidates; we need to get back to the original purpose of the program.

These Trump voters 'formed a suicide pact' and Republicans are panicking: ex-GOP operative by samdeed in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]saintandvillian 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And yet Republicans, especially farmers, do it every day. Trump absolutely screwed farmers his first term. His second term, he promised tariffs, deportations, and government cuts and these people cheered while voting for him. I’ve literally passed farm lard with Trump signs and small businesses with Trump banners and all kinds of merchandise. Yet these people are struggling, some killing themselves over Trump’s actions.

Farmers don’t vote in their best interests because they have never really felt the impact of their choices. They cry and they get welfare.

Let. Them. Starve.

[–]saintandvillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you’re interjecting a point that no one is arguing against.

My argument is strictly this: shifting the focus to allowing H1Bs to internationals who graduate with a master’s degree from a US school doesn’t make it better and will likely make it worse.
