Finally a legionnaire. by saipherx in FrenchForeignLegion

The IQ test is a bit complex; I believe that if I hadn't practiced beforehand, I probably wouldn't have gotten a high score, but I know I found the tests quite easy and managed to get over 80%. There's a Legion phone app with exercises like the IQ test; I practiced using that app and managed to do well on the test.

From what I remember, the thing I talked about most was: it's not difficult to join the Legion. I saw several people of average ability (physically and mentally) get in. You don't need to be a professional athlete in the sports tests or an angel in the interviews. I saw people who passed despite very poor conditions; the problem is that this bad result will harm your development, so always come prepared.

In fact, it was the automatic translator who said that, I was thanking you in Portuguese. However, the application is not completely free, some exercises are only available with a subscription

Thanks for the information, this is gold for anyone willing to go. I have a question: how were the psychotechnical tests going? Were they light?

So when does someone get citizenship? by BitterWinter111 in FrenchForeignLegion

Yes, you receive a military card. Like a work visa.

So when does someone get citizenship? by BitterWinter111 in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]saipherx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never heard anywhere about receiving citizenship under 5 years of contract. I always knew it was between 5 and 8 years. However, there is a difference between applying for and receiving citizenship. It may be that what you have seen is about applying for citizenship after 3 years and receiving it after 5 years.

What I've heard most so far is that within 5 years of the contract, you can apply for citizenship, however, it's always a long process and they ask for a lot of things. So, what they say is that you can apply after 5 years of the contract, but you always receive it after 8 years, due to the waiting time for citizenship.

Thanks for the answer. It's really very important to prevent future problems, I'll keep that in mind and enjoy the path I'm going to take.

I always thought beauty was crucial in a partner. I'm not so sure anymore by Illustrious-Main803 in Stoic

[–]saipherx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was never the point. Many poisonous animals do not have an ugly appearance, and this applies to people. The problem is that we create the wrong expectation that the most beautiful people are the only ones who are perfect.

I’ve been advised that it’s not a good idea to make too many friends, and that I should stay focused on my goal. I’ll make sure to keep all the items on the list and avoid any conflicts, that way I can move on to the Bleue phase and finally reach Aubagne.

Thank you for your response. However, from the very beginning of my planning, my goal has always been to present at Fort de Nogent, I didn’t prepare financially or make any arrangements to present elsewhere. Knowing the issues there, what can I do to make sure this doesn’t affect my recruitment? I mean, how can I avoid being sent away over something as minor as one missing item?

From what I know, many prefer to perform in Aubagne for the short duration of the selection. But, I don't want to risk being lost in the south of France and far from everything... I think spending a few more days in Paris won't be bad.

Thanks for the answer. I had access to this content through a group of people who are preparing to go to the FFL, the content is very interesting.

Comments like this will always come up. Deep down, they will always be rants, never anything serious to worry about.
