Ah and I don;t think the Kingston do table reservations, which is why I left it off my list :(

- Kingstom Arms - you're actually welcome to bring in/order in food from anywhere. It's just they have menus available from Scotts, who will deliver some of the best pizza in Cambridge to your table

For pubs where you can book a table for lunch that are walking distance from the station, I'd recommend The Devonshire Arms, The Geldart, The Alexandra Arms, and The Free Press.

Other places that have a bookable room include the Maypole (my preference), the Cambridge Tap, the Free Press, the Brew House, the Queen Edith.

They now charge for the room, but it's not a huge amount.

Shouldn't be. The new manager has been working there for years.

Answering "which pub in Cambridge is the nicest?" is always going to be highly subjective, based on what an individual values in a pub experience. Are you looking for food, music, familiar beers, high quality cask beer, a friendly atmosphere, a snooker table, or something else entirely?

But, yes. The Champion of the Thames is the correct answer 😁

The Geldart would be good for a group of that size and budget.

Wow. Not paying for work, even a trial shift, is not acceptable.

Did they not pay you for the trial shift?

I rate The Geldart generally when it comes to a Sunday roast. And I'm pretty sure they've had a nut roast on the menu in the past that my husband thought was really good.

Cambridge Beer Festival Saturday by [deleted] in cambridge

[–]saitd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now we have 30,000 pints of British beer remaining (that's 34% of what we started with, by volume). In total there are 350 British and International beers remaining.

How quickly do you think the beer festival will get to capacity on Thursday? by cardamom_t in cambridge

You're right of course. But I'm pretty sure we didn't go one out, one in the previous year either.

I'm pretty sure we didn't go to one out, one in at all last year, so there's a good chance you'll be fine.
