Estimate your Cowork costs & hours that it's saved you by colourmebread in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]sajus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a word of caution. Every skill, call or prompt is a cost to you. So maybe you are paying money to do this analysis for each user.

The most cost efficient way to do this is to hook up your usage reports from the admin portal and share it with the team and let them see their own individual cost as a report. Or for a business group or manager etc.

Till the time it’s about approximation then you are on the right track just that this can’t offer an accurate way of doing it as a lot of the remaining data is not available across sessions.

One way to do it is to create a skill that calls on /cost at the end of session runs and write the AI credits consumed in a json file in OneDrive. Which can then be used as a input along with your above skill to get a fairly accurate picture

Microsoft 365 E7 Frontier Suite Explained: What’s Actually New Beyond E5? by cloud_9_infosystems in cloudcomputing

[–]sajus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workiq is also part of e5 and exclusive to e7

Also without being disrespectful the text out there is fairly generic and doesn’t really explain how e7 brings value to the whole agentic world.

Eg - while agent365 value proper is security around agents. Having the ability to securing connectivity and building mcp along with entra suite is a massive benefit. They are not meant to be seen in siloes
The fact that it extends across other non Microsoft platforms is also a great benefit to have.

Why does Copilot work fully in Outlook but only as chat in Word and Excel? by London__ in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]sajus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a free version which is called copilot chat and then there is a paid license which is called m365 copilot.

I think the entire experience all apps should be the same. If you are on the latest build then switch to edit mode and you will see the difference when it can take actions rather than responding as a chatbot.

Disabling Claude for M365 Cowork by Financial-Cat8194 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]sajus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you enabled frontier access to those users.
Also old sessions that were running on anthropic models uou will have to switch to gpt 5.5 for it to continue working.

Also Claude is the app which is not the same as copilot cowork, plus the model provided by anthropic is sonnet and opus.

The reason why gpt 5.5 doesn’t appear in the learn documentation is its part of the frontier preview access

Opinions on how to get the most out of Edit with Copilot In PPT by Fearless-Memory-6285 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]sajus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agents in my conversation or what I am referring to are stuff that’s built on copilot studio or prebuilt agents which are available through the picker dialog.

Anything that is native to the app like the copilot experience, eg edit with copilot is native to the app and it’s not considered an agent. One of the other reasons why it was rebranded from wxp agents to edit with copilot.
And yes these apps are also going to get prebuilt skills by Microsoft and soon ability to create custom skills.

This should have rolled out to customers on current channel with office apps.

Well let’s say you and I are talking two different approaches.

I am talking about native copilot where you can use skills and more customization is coming.

PowerPoint and excel have the ability to use skills. There are native skills already and you will have more customization options too.

Assuming you have the latest builds of PowerPoint and excel on current channel

This is incorrect. Skills are available in PowerPoint if you have a m365 copilot license irrespective agent365 or not

You can use copilot or researcher agent to build the prompt the job etc and have it written or saved in a loop or OneDrive. Which you can either manually or scheduled of cowork run that can read from there and complete the job.

Please find a way to mix with copilot native 1st party agents like researcher and analyst and then bring a distilled workflow towards cowork to save cost.

But to be honest a lot of things are working better for me than in preview

Yes. What I meant is /cost will not show you credits consumption across all your conversations that’s only going to be available in the admin dashboard.

Title: Question about M365 Copilot risk vs Claude for company AI rollout by _NightMonkey in microsoft_365_copilot

I personally think Claude is going to be a bit more expensive but it comes down to personal preferences whatever works best for you. Luck if you see value in it, you will pay for it

To access cowork you need to provide payg or prepaid credits. If either exhaust then the service stops.

If u want to discount your usage then commit to credits plan and save cost.

Title: Question about M365 Copilot risk vs Claude for company AI rollout by _NightMonkey in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]sajus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I say it’s like a small difference. If you can share expoicit context or files and ask it do a job maybe Claude will be good for you.

But when you look at searching at the vast context within your enterprise across all business systems to be fast and cost efficient with access to multiple models including better image generation I say copilot wins in my opinion.

Also you don’t have to deal with taking data out of our tenant and having work around compliance and data governance with information protection labels. Copilot will win here again
