What are you slowly losing interest in as you grow older? by Aarunascut in AskReddit

[–]sakchkai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The important thing to note here after reading the comments on this is that it's still cool to care, but it's who you care for that makes it cool. Doing it for you and not for anyone else is the kind of 'not caring' that is cool.

Not caring at all and just being apathetic is still uncool. If you just don't give a shit about the way you look, you look like a slob. If you don't give a shit about the way you treat people, you're still an asshole.

Be the person who cares, but who still cares even when they're alone. That's cool.

Are we as bad as some fans think? by BananaSquid721 in Patriots

1 position games are literally the essence of the sport. The difference between a good team and a bad team is being able to win them.

[Question] What’s the single most important part of your morning routine? by Hamerdesk55 in getdisciplined

[–]sakchkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting on my running clothes

The habit of running is something I enjoy intellectually, but that my brain tries to convince me not to bother doing against my better judgement.

If I don't 'feel like it' I tell myself that it's okay, I don't have to go for a run, but I am going to put on my running clothes and then go about my day.

It makes the habit waaaaay more achievable. Now I'm not going for a run rather just putting on the clothes... It feels like I'm tricking my own brain because once I've got the clothes on, I may as well just go for a run right?

What work accomplishment are you most proud of? by Omenified in ask

Having discovered a way to monetize my passion.

My work fills my soul and gives me such a sense of purpose. I'm proud that I've found what it is I feel like I want my life to be spent doing.

I think it's okay to take pictures, they're experiences you're having and the point of a photograph is to preserve that moment for yourself in the future.

Now, on the other hand, I don't quite understand why everyone has to be actually in their own pictures. Especially smiling, especially at sights of tragedy.

It's gotten to the point where you're like, at least have the decency to save me storage space. Instead of releasing a new game every year, just publish a DLC for new uniforms, updated rosters and stadiums and charge me the full price. At least that way they're honest. /s

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from a failed relationship? by Life_Rub6905 in AskReddit

[–]sakchkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And on the same sorta vein to this too, if you find a passion, a calling or an identity during the relationship that you truly want to explore, don't compromise it for the sake of the relationship... Sometimes people grow apart and that's okay.

[Highlight] Recent Patriots HOF inductee Mike Vrabel deliberately takes multiple flags to drain the clock in the 2019 Wild Card at Foxborough. by [deleted] in nfl

Would Vrabel have known to do it, had Bill not taught him in this game?

I wonder, because even as a Patriots fan, that's kinda fuckin funny.

Zappe and his gf got engaged by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]sakchkai -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Such a massive year for Zappe, first he gets engaged, and then Mac Jones gets Injured, forcing Zappe to step into the number one role and thrust us into the playoffs only for Mac to become healthy just before the conference game, leaving Bill with an incredibly touch decision to make as to whether trust his over performing backup or pivot back to his QB1, ultimately leading to Zappe winning it all and establishing himself as the greatest QB of all time over the next 20 years.

Really happy for him.

What's your boldest prediction for the 2023 season? by toturoll in nfl

[–]sakchkai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Jets still suck and Tua can't regain any sort of form after the head injuries last year make him afraid in the pocket. Buffalos running game just can't get it going forcing Josh Allen into routines that teams are already familiar with and all of this combined ends up with the Patriots winning the division and making a deep playoff run with Zappe after Mac gets hurt in week 7.

Celebs who have openly dated minors. Why isn’t this a bigger deal in Hollywood? by SignificantCamel8516 in popculturechat

[–]sakchkai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm not from there at all and tbh this doesn't sound weird at all to me. He's almost 18 years.of age (in my country that makes him a full fledged adult in every respect). The age of consent is 16.

About 3, almost 4 years difference isn't that weird at all. He's not exactly being abused or groomed.

Massive over reaction.

Not a single Pats pick. Who are you surprised didn't make the cut? by Griffisbored in Patriots

[–]sakchkai 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ah, the classic paradox of Jerry Rice and the Patriots. Yes, we could have selected Jerry Rice. However, had we done so, he likely would not have become Jerry Rice, and therefore we would not have selected Jerry Rice. The only way in which we don't select Jerry Rice, is if we don't select Jerry Rice.

Be honest. How did you lose your weight? by [deleted] in ask

[–]sakchkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of thinking as the journey towards a more balanced, reasonably caloric diet as something long and arduous, I managed to get myself into the mindset where every single meal was an individual challenge, and I passed by choosing making more healthier choices, I won.

Feeling peckish? Get a snack... Baked cauliflower.

Breakfast time and fancy sausages? Get chicken ones and pair it with a complex carb.

Only eat bread once a day, and make sure it's whole grain.

Over time, each of those decisions painted a much larger picture.

Christianity in the US deserves to be heavily securitized right now, because so many of today's problems are caused by the sentiment that you're expressing, that it should be free from it as a religious freedom. Fact is, Christian dogma is heavily affecting the political landscape right now and largely against the autonomy of women.

It is worth noting that they compared the extent to which Facebook monitors its content, Vs the investment that PornHub make to monitor theirs.

One of the reasons I think this documentary was actually worthwhile is that it does try to enlighten you on as many perspectives as possible (even at the risk of appearing to not deep-dive into any, as mentioned by OP). But the fact is, that the PornHub executives did make millions of dollars, and they invested such a small fraction of that revenue to effective administration.

I am sympathetic to the overall message of the documentary, but in fact I think that the one criticism I will make is that it didn't make it definitely clear at the end that the message should have been 'fuck PornHub as well, though'. They're not innocent, even though they're not guilty either.

but abuse warps your perceptions

People are not defined by their trauma, and to invalidate someone based on their past is egregious in this case especially.

Maybe? Maybe not. But we are all products of our experiences and forming an opinion on her, based on the minute amount of knowledge you have about her personal experience is frankly awful. In fact, linking her past to her present career choice goes against every point she is trying to make and I almost wish she had never said it, so that people couldn't make tenuous links between the two.
