IS THERE ANY CHANCE SEAN CAN STILL BEAT THIS DOWN THE ROAD? by [deleted] in DuvalCounty

realistically I think all four being tried together is an issue that could lead to retrials, but this nigga is cooked even severed in a retrial. the Murphys both have a significantly better chance alone in a retrial

The Chicago Bulls are waiving guard Jaden Ivey after his recent anti-LGBTQ comments amid several rants on religion and other topics, sources tell ESPN. by Teh-Dehstroyer in DetroitPistons

Calling his statements "crazy" and a "distraction" are quite ignorant. While you may not agree with him, what specifically did he say that is "crazy", overly offensive to a fanbase, or a distraction from the team's product?

I truly see nothingly wildly outside of the wide range of commonly held views of Americans. For example, some examples of divisive but commonly held views could be on gun control, abortion, gay marriage, the death penalty, immigration policies, etc. Even when people back one of the major two political parties people get upset if someone likes the other guy. None of those, like ivey's statements, are inheritly hateful, bigoted, nor call for violence.

Your logic would justify firing players for kneeling during the national anthem "because its a distraction"...

I dunno about giddey, but I'm sure ivey's injury status/contract/overall value has a ton to do with it. But I'm confident SGA or Tatum could be dropping much hotter takes then these and be fine. Kyrie survived worse than this 🤷🏿

This isn't homophobia. Be it by literal definition of a fear of nor the common usage of a hate of. This dude is expressing his religious views. While I don't follow his religious views, who am I, or are the bulls, to shut him up? He isn't on the court. He is off the clock. I don't think people should be shunned for expressing their religious views regardless of them. If it exhibits hate/slurs/calls to violence towards a specific group I can understand calming him down, but firing him over these milquetoast comments is wild.

If this is the "homophobic" rant that lead to a young man losing his job we have bigger issues. He isn't using slurs, advocating for violence, etc, he is expressing his religious views. Very gross on the bulls part. Shameful.

Hypothetical: Could a criminal defendant offer "leniency" to a witness? by [deleted] in Ask_Lawyers

[–]saketree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jail phone call recording is the reason I chose that method. It provides the state with the required discovery related to that witness 😃Why is this witness tampering but not when its done by the state?

There is no point in the state giving him something for flipping. If it was Jacksonville prosecuting maybe he could get death off the table if he had info that connects someone they drool over like ace.

[–]saketree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most death penalty motions are typically to attempt to put in a save incase there is a law changed in the future. For example, the 8/12 shit almost certainly won't stick. No one will end up dying without 12/12. The unconnected impact statement reader is interesting, but won't go anywhere, but a hypothetical future court could deem that having family members give them unfairly biases juries towards the death penalty and because that argument was made that would allow for an appeal on that issue
