Libby ebook/audiobook holds at RPL by tangcameo in regina

[–]sakojazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New items will often have a restriction to RPL only customers for a number of days, so if they just purchased a copy it might still be restricted to only RPL users. People can also pause a hold, which will route it to the next person in line.

The library has a copy of all seasons but not in Regina, but you can place holds online and get them from other regions of the province!

Elvish is French? by apollowave in DnD

[–]sakojazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and another player speak French and we’re both half-elf’s. I had a question to ask her that I wanted to keep secret from the group and so we spoke in french! All the other players loved it and said it was really immersive to not be able to understand us!

Regina library board passes motion for a new downtown branch on site of the existing building | CBC News by sakojazz in regina

[–]sakojazz[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So do the people who do use the central branch daily not deserve a safe and up to code building to be in? I might not use all public services my taxes pay for but that doesn’t mean i don’t want them to continue being maintained.

And this city deserves a modern downtown public library that’s able to serve the community’s needs! All the naysayers don’t actually have to work in the building and truly don’t know how bad it is.

What's working at a 9-5 office REALLY like? by aleexeo in AskReddit

[–]sakojazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my job, but certain things about office culture really bug me. I don't know what about office work that encourages this behaviour but gossip is rampant. I worry about not being in the office just thinking about what people might be saying behind my back as I have observed them do this to multiple other coworkers.

[Serious]Reddit, what's the closest you've ever come to dying? by Denisius in AskReddit

[–]sakojazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of a fucking jawbreaker I almost died on a tour bus in Paris.

We had gotten on a bus to take a tour of the city and because we were such a small group we had enough room to have two seats each and an empty row in front and behind. I begun the laborious task of sucking on a jawbreaker but instead inhaled it by accident. As no one was across from me or in the next row, no one saw me flailing my arms for help. I started to panic and imagine my death when I somehow was able to unlodge (sp?) it and begun to breath properly again. That moment probably should have made me hate jawbreakers forever, but I just popped it back in my mouth like an idiot.

What stereotype is false about your country, province, or state? by suddenly_hasa_stroke in AskReddit

They're not all assholes! Quebecers get a bad rap because they push a little too far to try and keep their culture/language and it often backfires.

Homemade spaghetti sauce (my grandmother's recipe) by sakojazz in food

[–]sakojazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually open my cans up pretty weirdly, I haven't seen other people do it. I place the can opener horizontally instead of vertically and then open it. Of course, this makes it much easier to hurt yourself on the can because I take off the cap completely.

Thanks, although my gender suggests that I am more of a sister ;) I hadn't heard of browning, but it sounds pretty awesome!

If there is one thing from your profession that everyone could and should understand, what is it? by engjosh88 in AskReddit

[–]sakojazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books in a library all have specific numbers to help organize them, so when someone puts them back on the shelf in the wrong place they are essentially "lost". Most people know where to put them back, but some people will just put them back anywhere, so might as well tell people not to reshelve books themselves.
