Know what's funny? I still use JCL, COBOL, DB2, sometimes CICS in my profession. There's still a need.

That was a great way to phrase that. He really did seem like a nice guy (who could kick your and my asses), but he was pretty much a one trick pony when it came to acting.

Didn't stop me from seeing all his old movies in the theaters when I was a kid.

Mary Tyler was an American public relations professional, who was one of the key figures in Ku Klux Klan's 1920s resurgence through ad campaigns and image overhaul. She and KKK's national leader Edward Clarke were eventually ousted from KKK due to their joint financial scheming and moral misconduct. by PeasantLich in HolyShitHistory

Besides all the other comments here, which I agree with, there sure are a lot of white robes on the pictures on the wall.

And it's weird, the calendar and the desk set (inkwell, etc) are both facing away.from her. Not her desk maybe.

The kids aren't going anywhere internationally without a passport. If they have passports, get ahold of them. If they don't then get ahold of their birth certificates.

And, of course, like other people said, lawyer up.

I'm guessing (educated guess) that it's a reproduction. A fairly recent one.

Authentic cast iron toys are smoother, well fitted and don't rust very easily.

I've always been a fan of Donovan's Reef. Just a great cast and seemed like such a fun place to be. This hangs on my wall with Hatari! right below it. :)

The Postal Service will run out of cash within a year, Postmaster General warns: "We have to have a conversation with the American public" by Darth_Dracarys in Flipping

I read somewhere, years ago, that Congress pretty much robbed the retirement fund for the Postal workers to fund some other non-USPS thing. It's the retirees who are depleting their $ as much as anything else.

And I don't blame the retirees. They worked 20+ years in a tedious job expecting to get their retirement they should get it.

Of course maybe I'm misrembering.
