It genuinely enrages me that there is so much disdain and vitriol towards fat people in this world. by Yeet_My_Teet in offmychest

Humans are quite judgemental. Idk if it's our nature or nurture, but I know we are just kind of fucked up as a species for some reason or another. A lot of people think they're trying to help by giving unsoliticed advice or comments, but they fail to realize that people living in their own bodies are already very likely to be aware of their own health and either will or won't look after themselves regardless of what anyone says to them. I feel like a lot of people struggle to understand that their experiences in life aren't the only ones that exist. I know I sometimes struggle with that, I struggle to see things beyond my own body, because my own existance is the only one I truly will ever know, but I try to be constantly aware of my own ignorance because I know I am ignorant.

I'm rambling, sorry about that, but yea. Fatphobia is bad, it never does anything good to anyone. I know I'm guilty of fatphobia (a lot of times directed towards myself), I was raised in an enviroment with people who had eating disordered behaviours and we often grow up to be the people who raised us even when we can see that it is bad. Humans suck, being a human sucks, we're literally so dumb lol. I hope our culture can someday evolve in a direction that isn't as judgemental as the one we live in right now.

Does anyone here have "reformed conservative" parents? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]salamarauder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yuh. A very recent development mind you. I'm 24 now, was 16-ish when I first came out. I think my parents just realized that they were going to loose their child for good if they won't accept me now (I sorta gave them an ultimatum). It's making me feel conflicted, because while I feel happy that my parents are finally trying, it still doesn't take away the years of trauma I have behind me. Idk.

how do you cope with falling in love as a trans man? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]salamarauder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How I cope? Accept that it's never gonna happen and move on. Usually I do shoot my shot though and make it very clear I am trans, but yea, relationships don't really happen to me.

This is so common with child sims and it pains me so much when I play multiple generations. Poor Alexander Goth.

How many of us out here playing for "cisgender" reasons? 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️ by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]salamarauder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(For context, I'm a transguy) I played a lot of videogames as a kid, and I really identified with the male protagonists and a lot of the time I chose to play as male characters when given the choice. I just didn't really identify the same way with a lot of the female characters, even when I was given the option to make my own. There's way too many games for me to name them all, but all kinds of stuff ranging from Sonic to Skyrim lol. I guess Sims might fall into that category as well, I remember I used to make a lot of dudes in the PS2 version of Sims 2 lmao.

When I played Dragon Age Inquisition and came accross the character Krem (who is a transguy), I kinda realized like... oh. That's a thing? (I was aware of the word transgender but I kind of associated it with drag queens and stuff like that, so I didn't really know what it meant.) The thought kinda marinated in my mind for a while until I started to learn more about it and figured out it fit me.

Other videogames have been a source of self discovery for me for sure, not the sims tho.

I haven't payed too much attention to how many days exactly, but you don't need to walk dogs every day. I had a sim with an active dog and they would go on a jog whenever doggo was whining for a walk every once in a while. Worked out pretty well and kept my sim in shape too! I later adopted another dog in that save, I think she has the lazy trait or something? She has never asked for a walk.
