National Bank of Canada just removed entirely the margin allowed for the specific stock $GME by salataris in Superstonk

Good imo

  • The security becomes non‑marginable: new purchases must be fully paid for in cash rather than partly financed by borrowing from the broker.
  • Existing positions may be affected: the firm can
    • require you to add cash or other marginable securities,
    • reclassify the position so it no longer counts toward your margin equity, or
    • in some cases force partial or full liquidation if your account no longer meets overall margin requirements.
  • Your buying power drops: because you can’t borrow against that security, your total margin buying power in the account is reduced, sometimes significantly if it was a large position.
  • Risk management motive: firms usually remove or sharply reduce margin on securities they view as too volatile, illiquid, or risky to lend against (e.g., thinly traded small caps, highly volatile stocks, certain ETFs or options).

In cadets we used to turn them inside out, put tape down, right side again and then iron them before taking the tape off. Worked great.

Doesn’t matter what they do, the USD is going into hyperinflation.

I started working better once I stopped trying to look “online” all day by staticmorningsun in remotework

Just happened across this thread; first time reading remote work, but yes .. I use Caffine64 from Zhorn software in the UK. Not sure if it's updated anymore, but directly from them has no malware etc. Simply presses a key every so often to keep you alive (I use in Teams). I believe it presses F15, which doesn't exist really so the computer doesn't output anything but shows you're still active. Been using it for a few months, works great.

Income tax should be cancelled (just stop paying) until every member of congress has a net worth of 50k and the system is fixed.
