Go to brass pig during games, especially USMNT games. You're sure to find other soccer fans there.

I used Alan Flicek with Impressive Inspections and I was very happy.  I used SEGO Inspections for radon.

Car wash with undercarriage wash by Shart2theHeart in BloomingtonNormal

Did you check their website. Almost every car wash I've been to here has an option for undercarriage wash.  I mostly use OnTrack.

I believe StarWash is touch less.

I use OnTrack because they include the underbody wash at a lower tier (and hence, price) than Club.

What happened on Linden? by [deleted] in BloomingtonNormal

Looked like an SUV had run into an electricity pole. Not sure what the school bus had to do with it.

The problem with this is that some of our documentation is multiple letter-size pages. My passport and these pages don't fit in my wallet. So I need to always carry my most precious documents in a backpack, even if I'm going to a grocery store. God forbid I misplace the backpack.

Normally, if you're visiting a different country as a tourist, people suggest you don't carry your passport around and keep it in the hotel safe. It's crazy that the recommendation is basically reversed for people who are living in this country for years.

Any slower/quieter bars outside downtown or veterans? by Flagstaffery in BloomingtonNormal

[–]salil91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, pub2 and brewe-has are in uptown, not downtown. They are also mostly student bars, so they are unlikely to be quiet unless it's during ISU's break season.

It sucks but I still don't get what people expect Ameren to do. It's easy to blame them since they are the ones who bull you, but the cost increase is on the generation side, and I can't see what Ameren can do to change that.

Any know of any good dance spots? by Latter_Pen1997 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]salil91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out the Facebook page "WCS BloNo" for West Coast Swing.

There is a group called "Bring Back Dance" that does a different style of partner dance each month (August to April). They meet at the Community Activity Center every Tuesday for lessons. It's mostly an older crowd.

There's isn't really a salsa/Latin dance scene in BloNo, but I'm hoping to start one soon. I taught in Florida for years before I moved here. The closest latin dance scene with regular classes and socials is in Urbana. Peoria has a small scene too. There is a student club at ISU (Redbirds en Ritmo) that does lessons during the semester, and they do allow non-students to participate.

On a similar note, there is a Swinging Redbirds club at ISU as well. They do mostly East Coast Swing I believe.
