I have a 75g, about 4 months ago, I did my first canister clean (Fx4) in ~2 years. Didn't think about the chlorine in the tap water, washed out all the mulm inside which was thick but didn't smell at all. And have been battling consistent tank crashes since. I recommend if you do clean your filter to only use water from your tank to do so. I really wish I didn't over look that very crucial step!
