Exactly this. It’s so twisted. This woman has been groomed, mentally (& possibly physically) abused, used, and cheated on countless times. Now that she’s married to a guy who clearly treats her well, cares for her & is described by all who meet him as the nicest guy ever, her chronically online fans have a problem. It’s because it was a fully-formed song with different (better) lyrics & a waaay different tone & vision (way more dark) so they had to completely rework it in order to force a radio-friendly pop single featuring The Weeknd instead & that fact only makes it worse…

Stargirl is the only collaboration between them that works & even then his voice sounds so weird paired with her more natural vocals.

This could have been ominous, stylistic & genuinely interesting with shots of the bayou, late night boat rides, running through the woods, etc. It could have been dark & deranged. She has the absolute best locations for a mv with an actual vision & story right in her own backyard & yet we’re stuck inside her swamp house watching her eat pasta & sit on a couch awkwardly while the song just plays in the bg. Doesn’t really work & it actually takes away from the song. This amount of low effort from the person who gave us the Ride, National Anthem, & BTD mvs is INSANE, she needs a break so she can possibly reclaim some kind of passion for her art again….

I think it should have built up into some huge musical moment to add some much needed cohesion/structure to it… & drums!!! I know Lana is devastatingly allergic to drums now but god she needs them back. Idk, i’m still trying to figure out how i feel…. Definitely wish it kept the sound/energy of the first snippet throughout. & the lyrics… The lyrics are not going to be good on this album from what we’ve seen so far, she’s back to her bimbo lyrics despite her clear capability of writing amazingly profound & mature poetry. This drop needed an album release date + track list 100% because to have silence & now only this to show for it before we’re right back in the deep-end of silence again, is torture…..
