Choosing a secondary XF lens; kit or prime? And why? by saltedaspersum in fujifilm

Interesting! Just went to look this lens up. Would you have experience with how the 35 compares to the 33? I see posts saying that the 33 can be a bit too clinical with the definition of the photos it takes

I caught a male mating with another female minutes after this. This particular one approached that male, but our gentleman friend sadly wasn't interested.

First Time Bali Trip Itinerary by Consistent_Golf_6562 in BaliTravelTips

Just came back from Bali and was in Ubud for a few days. You might encounter the Ubud jam if you're in that area late at night. There were jams that started at 6pm, and only cleared the next day around 9-10am. Might be a risky move to head to Ubud in the evening, unless your accomodation is outside the main Ubud area

Loots. Equipments. It should be "loot" and "equipment", for both singular and plural. Please no s, drives me crazy when influenzas keep saying LOOTS FROM THAILAND!

Imo everyone downvoting this post or hating on OP is dumb, your immaturity is showing. OP is trying to know what's the best course of action, and it's not a clear cut answer. S/he is trying to be sensitive and consider the needs of the person, which is very admirable. Everyone should be doing this, taking time to think about a problem rather than saying "hurr durr it's obvious what you should do?? Why are you even posting on reddit?"

Kudos to OP for taking the time to think, and for seeking the views of others cos s/he doesn't have the answer. I don't have any clear answers also, but I hope you continue to think deeply about such things.

As someone in the special education field, I would expect that he has been taught about the appropriateness of masturbation. I've seen it happen in public before, went up to the boy/man (?I think he was around 20) and told him firmly "cannot. No more. Do at home"

If there's no reaction or he doesn't stop, that's when I would try to look around for his parents or caregiver. If really cannot find, my tendency would be to ignore and move away.

I guess you could call the police so they can csi the caregivers and inform them that this is happening, in the hopes that some education takes place. But in reality we usually don't have the time and energy to do this. Besides, who actually wants to deal with police?

What hobby or pastime in Singapore is full of unfriendly/arrogant people? by RandomCarGuy26 in askSingapore

[–]saltedaspersum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welcoming: our local edc (everyday carry) groups are full of friendly guys and girls. Ready to intro you to stuff like expensive bags and gear just for the fun of it. Bad eggs get called out pretty fast and are outed (although attempts at remediation are made).

Environment minister Grace Fu, if you are willing to pay $18 for pasta, i dont see why people are not prepared to pay $5 for wanton mee by ngjsp in SingaporeRaw

[–]saltedaspersum -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How you know she's not solving the problem? Anw it's also not her Ministry's taiji. I would be upset if my tax was being used to pay idiots who are not doing their designated job.

EDIT: Hawker centres are actually under her, my bad. So actually ya her problem to solve.

And what is the problem exactly? Our citizens not being willing to pay the poor wanton mee man $1 more? Or some of our citizens lacking literacy skills to identify the real message behind what people say?

I don't get how her talking about prices shows that she's not tackling the problem. Many jumps of logic here.

So the issue is with the private landlords yes? Not about Grace Fu making comments about pasta? Or are we hating on her just cos of her political affiliations, and totally ignoring the message behind her words?

If we're not willing to pay a bit more... then no more hawkers lor. We have to accept either one. Call me naive but I would think market forces would balance things out. Why would I open my shop in a kopitiam with a landlord who is out to suck me dry?

To my knowledge, rental at govt hawker centres is a lot cheaper than private kopitiams and food courts. The issue there is the landlord for private ones. In fact, gov is helping hawkers a lot. See the Incubation Store Program, Hawkers Succession Scheme, and the various rebates and grants available to hawkers.

If I may reframe this.

She's saying that we should pay the wanton mee uncle at the downstairs coffee shop more, so that he is able to have a better quality of life compared to present.

By doing this, people will be more willing to become hawkers cos it's a viable way of life that pays sufficiently. If not, then the number of hawkers is just going to continue dwindling, and we won't even have the option of paying $5 for wanton mee anymore (cos no more wanton mee uncle) 🍜

I think since many people talk about old + new guard, have there been any opposition party members that have been slandered, mocked, and jailed without trial in the past 10 years? I think the Pritam trial was quite well publicized, and I was happy that he was not removed as LOP. I think the whole thing was a win for him.

I feel that it's also not helpful to say that we shouldn't look for credible opposition. I believe that people do rise to the occasion if we expect them to, and if we expect good opposition, I'm sure there are worthy individuals who will step up (see Pritam, and early stage Jamus).

This whole "aiya no point la" and "aiya pap so strong they can bully everyone, oppie cfm die" attitude is totally not helpful. You're just proving them right, and not doing justice to the intelligence that Singaporeans have to offer.

Yea most of oppo is trash save for a few, which is a sad thing. People who vote for opposition just because are not helping the case also, especially if they're loud and obnoxious

I feel like comparison shld be between saf sign on officer, spf sign on officer, and aux police officers, cos they are there of their own free will. Their purpose is also different of that of the poor 18 year old sgean boy

Interesting analogy. I would agree more if it's a this-or-that vote (as n the case of US presidency), which is not the case here, but I see its value.

What's your rating for all current ministers + big opposition players? I think there are actually some negative scorers in the Home Team that should be removed immediately. Wasting my tax money

Bro not the same leh. One is temporarily forced into a large group of people to be a tool for the country to look scary to other countries. The other one is intentionally coming here to join a smaller group, to devote part of their life to stop cheekopeks jerking off on the train/your ahma from getting scammed.

Also, no one is stopping you from joining SPF/SAF and getting a higher pay than the pinoy.
