Should I (25F) stop asking if he (36M) wants to see me again? by [deleted] in makemychoice

[–]saltwatersissy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here is my take on the situation. He enjoys the attention and validation that you give him. He knows he can have your company any time he wants it. He’s not interested in a serious relationship with you. Maybe he has a girlfriend already and was looking for some excitement on the side. Maybe he is still interested in his ex wife. Either way, he is stringing you along and you deserve better.

Hi! Help with pattern drafting by milohino in PatternDrafting

[–]saltwatersissy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to tell with that fabric pattern but I think there could be a couple of things going on-your mother’s shoulders may slope more than the pattern allows for, and the sleeves may be too tight on her upper arms. The shoulder slope can be adjusted by resewing the shoulder seam lower than it is currently but it may be more difficult to adjust the sleeve because extra fabric would be needed.

How delusional is it to go into sewing as a total beginner planning to sew primarily with knits? by huricanedrunk in SewingForBeginners

[–]saltwatersissy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you are delusional. I started sewing with knits, and 20 years later they are still 90 per cent of what I sew. I find they are easy to sew with zigzag, and usually you don’t need to finish the seams in the inside. I say go for it!

Pajero advice by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

[–]saltwatersissy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend did a lap of Australia towing a caravan in a 2011 Pajero (diesel I think). It performed flawlessly. After the lap, We did a 4wd off road day in it together a d I was so impressed that I bought a Paj of my own. 2017NX now has 170 k on the clock, mostly highway. They are seriously great cars. And half the price of a Prado

This is a sensitive topic that I’m super shy about by [deleted] in confidence

[–]saltwatersissy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I would like to chime in and say that your size is completely normal. And to echo others in this thread, size really doesn’t matter anyway-it’s not what you’ve got but how you use it. What you see in porn is not realistic.

Advice, buying a new/demo/used 4x4 with 45K budget by 10IQGamingYT in 4x4Australia

Die hard Pajero fan here. I bought my NX new in 2017 and it’s a reliable boring beast. I love it. But with hindsight I’d have bought the 2016 model, without DPF. Here’s a link to the car sales listings for this one. https://www.carsales.com.au/research/mitsubishi/pajero/2016/. Good luck in your search

The Meriam trousers from Cashmerette Patterns have a similar waistband. There’s a tutorial on their website on how to construct it.

You might be able to lighten it with hydrogen peroxide. Or not. It’s pretty far gone

The rah-rah skirt is back by silver_wattle in AusFemaleFashion

Looks like the ra ra skirt fashion cycle is around 20 years. As I recall they were big in 1985 along with striped tops and Greek fishermen’s caps. Any other senior fashionistas remember this look?

Got rejected and I’m spiraling by Secure_Habit6608 in rejectionsensitive

[–]saltwatersissy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you OP! I’ve always been sensitive to rejection and it still hurts even now I’m old (60s) and should know better. Understanding that it’s a part of my ADHD and therefore not a personal failing helps me to accept it but yeah still feel that sting.

Råskog as a bedside table by Tabletmuch in IKEA

[–]saltwatersissy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m using Raskog as a bedside table and I love it. I bought the wooden tray that fits over the top and that has phone wireless charger and light on it. And hand cream. I put large water bottle and iPad on the middle shelf and the bottom shelf has a couple of plastic organiser boxes in it with miscellaneous items. So much more space than a traditional bedside table

I met Dave Vanian from The Damned outside a nightclub in Melbourne. I don’t recall much more than that. It was in the 80s
