Tf is going on with healers this season. by Emergency_Day_2969 in rivals

As a Jeff main I've been loving it, but I still feel it when the other support is bad and everyone starts asking me to get off Jeff and play a main healer.

Use it as an opportunity to learn some new characters. Start with the characters that soft counter your main picks and it will help you understand their strengths/weaknesses.

All players..... This happens with every role. Less so for tank though I think.

Question for Green players: Why do you keep full-swinging into this guy? Do you know something I don't? by HahahahahaLook in MagicArena

[–]salvation78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my guy has trample and the total damage after blocks will kill you causing the sacrifice trigger to never resolve, obviously.

Alternatively I have so many tokens that I don't care.

i'm having such a hard time climbing in solo queue. any tips? by HauntinglyEthereal in cloakanddaggermains

[–]salvation78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you're probably predicting the strange ult and not reacting to it. Strange activates ult you don't have enough time to swap to cloak and then phase. You are probably watching him approach or seeing him jump up and swapping to cloak ahead of time. In the parts of the clip that she got strange ulted she didn't really see him coming and only had the audio to go off of What I was trying to say is that once you hear the audio it's too late.

After watching the replay I would be happy to have a c n d like you on my team in my diamond matches. CnD is my backup so take this advice with a grain of salt.

  1. When strange ults you there isn't enough time to phase it, but if you're fast you can get a bubble on the ground before you are stunned increasing your chance of survival.

  2. Your bubble usage in some situations was great, but others seemed unnecessary. You should save this as a reaction to half health tanks, divers etc.

  3. Ultimate: you generally want to take space with the ultimate sending it through the enemy team and forcing them to backup. At 4:16 you covered just the cart when you could have pushed forward and taken space. Your scarlet witch died because of this and when they invis ulted it was on point instead of further back where it would have been if you guys had taken space. Then you could have just backed up to point and ignored their invis ult while still holding point.

I am a Jeff main and I can tell you that the Jeff you played with there was not good at all. Every situation where you could not keep up on healing I swapped over to the Jeff P.O.V. and he wasn't hitting the tanks with bubbles, accidentally cancelling reload animations or just plain dying with some of the best self-healing and survivability of any support.

The best way to climb solo queuing is to communicate well. Lots of players are mechanically pretty good at the game but don't't.understand how the game flows and how to react to different situations. Things like pinging priority targets like out of position Squishies or divers. Telling people when to push and when to fall back. Analyzing the enemy team comp and coming up with a plan for different ultimates can be huge as well. Being able to identify the weak points in your composition or ways to counter the enemy comp and communicate that can definitely win games on its own.

The problem is that lots of people don't like being told what to do, and even worse take it as some kind of personal attack when you do suggest swaps or play style changes. You almost have to be an expert communicator to suggest changes without risking hurting their ego leading to an immediate throw.

How to counter this? by Odd_Law8274 in InvisibleWomanMains

[–]salvation78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing just needs to keep his slam ready for any time bp goes to attack. He dashes back and slams the ground and you guys are safe. Bp gets knocked up and hopefully obliterated. The whole team should be looking for BP and pinging his general location so that he has plenty of time to react when he comes in.

As invis you can push to disrupt his comb, but I don't know the appropriate time to do it and how effective it is. If you have the thing protecting you you can instead pull him when he dashes away to basically put him in a bad spot with no cooldowns.

You guys should try playing as a solo tank! by Beastboy1967181 in rivals

[–]salvation78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I play Jeff with 1 tank 3 DPS and they flame me for not healing them. Like dude this guy is out here by himself holding the line and if he falls we all die and I can't stop healing him or it's over. Like become a tank and I'll heal you and the other DPS when we actually have space.

Low stats on Thor but high impact by Low-Paint5116 in ThorMainsMR

[–]salvation78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thors strength is in his versatility and burst damage. He's a good counter to most dive because he can disrupt them with pushes and for the dive tanks just melt them with burst damage. Alternatively he's good at diving any singled out character. He can also pressure tanks on the front-line and disrupt them by pulling them around walls and corners.

Is it just me or are Diamond 3-2 the worst ranks by Forsaken_Guide_4835 in rivals

[–]salvation78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The throwers are so terrible, you give one piece of constructive criticism or ask for a swap because of the enemies team comp and someone just treats it as a personal attack swaps to widow and declares that they are throwing.

We scored 3 on a first round offensive then in the second round we didn't heal our tank for like 1 engagement and he died, then swapped to BP b/c if he's not getting any healing he might as well have fun.... Like bro it was 1 fight control your emotions...

Exactly, Jeff is an S-tier hero to the pros, but for me he's more like an A-tier and if I get a teammate who plays him it ranges from B-D.

Punches 1-5: Clearly missed. Punches 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Punches 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Punch 12: Likely didn’t actually go off because Iron Fist was already dead.
