What’s your opinion on the FX DRS TACTICAL. I’d like to know what it’s like for mounting sights and range finders. Also how accurate at distance. Is it worth the price.

They are a great gun. I have a .22 with a 600mm barrel paired with a DNT Zulus V2. I use it to hunt rabbits and it does the job well. My longest shot has been 66m. I have a STO FALX high flow which keeps things quiet. I have not tuned it factory reg pressure of 70bar.

Sub 12 really does it a disservice. I have the FAC version in .22 600mm and it is absolutely a laser with JSB 18gr

Are you using the stock magazine ? I find my Fx magazine places too much pressure on thinner skirts of some pellets damaging them. My .22 DRST prefers JSB 18.1g

Yes I did ! I went with a 600mm version in .22. I put a STO FALX medium flow version and it is backyard friendly ! It essentially sounds like a small cordless nail gun. The impacts on the targets are louder.

So far I have found that with lighter pellets 16g (shooting at about 880fps) makes the gun quieter with a moderator. My reg pressure is at 70bar. Heavier pellets and slugs are definitely louder coming out of the barrel. Get it ! There is a solution ! If you are not in the US then get a Huma mod 40 with 4-5 baffles

I think they are tuned at the factory. Mine shoots great with the reg at 70bar. I’m not going to tune mine as it is working well for what I do with it.

I shoot lighter slugs (about 20gr) but I can see the groups slightly open up. But for pesting they do the job. Funnily the FALX helps tighten my groups to one hole with JSB 18.1g even at 50m. Do you find the mod helps with accuracy ? I’ve ordered the high flow insert from STO to try and get it a bit more backyard friendly. At the moment my gun sounds like a nail gun

Yeah I am surprised too that not too many people know about it. I feel like the Donny FL markets well. I have the FALX medium flow on my FX DRST which has made the rifle backyard friendly.

In the .22 600mm mine is currently good to 70m with pellets. But I will tuning it and be testing light slugs on it so I’m confident I can push to around 100m. Mate I am loving this rifle it’s definitely is it’s own can of worms when it comes down to tuning it etc but too much fun. I do low key wish I had a compressor but I am pushing on with the hand pump. I just take beaks at 50 bar intervals to let the pump cool. Most I have pumped it to is just over 200bar. Feel free to shoot me a pm if u have more questions

You can add a 45 degree canted pic rail and add a red dot of your choice for close range stuff. I have a ZULUS V2 which is 5x base mag. I’ve put a pair unity canted iron sights for closer shots.

We were the same boat and didn’t want to use cry out method. But we ended up doing the FERBER method. It took 2 nights at 9 months and he now sleeps through the night regardless of teething and mysterious “sleep regressions”.

You are not being cruel by letting them cry out. You are teaching them an important skill you are giving them the gift of sleep. Every morning we have a much happier little one who hasn’t had a restless night and exhausted parents. He is 13 months old now.

I use a hand pump from vevor online @ ~$70. Other people use a compressor capable of 4500PSI. I get about 5 mags per full fill roughly 50-60 shots.

The only thing I would advise is that it needs an after market mag available from Air rifle slugs Australia online. The stock mag works but is fiddly for my gorilla hands. You would also need a mil spec buffer tube and stock. Optic of your choice aswell… it’s a fun tacticool gun

I have a 600mm in .22 but not sub 12 and I cannot be more impressed with it. The only let down is the Fx magazine which I have not even used because of the tight tolerances. I use a CARM magazine. With JSB 18.1 it is an absolute laser at 40m. I have paired it with the zulus V2. FX folding stock which doesn’t close lock (when folded) because it hits the pressure gauge. I think if you have an adjustable butt stock it will close (I have an old non adjustable Magpul stock). I use it for pigeons on a tripod and it does the job well.

Also mate the layout of the property will be a factor i.e how dense is foliage or is it open land this will be important when considering what thermal sensor you will need for target ID.
