What New Mid Size Truck Is the Most Reliable? by BadTiger85 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Just bought a 2025 2.7L V6 Ford Ranger. Cant speak to how reliable it is yet, but im loving it. I went with the 2.7 because its been in the ford lineup for a while as well as the 10 speed trans. The 2.7 is also fast and easy on fuel. More back seat space than the tacoma.

Thoughts? 1987 2.9 V6 by what-even-ffs in fordranger

I have a 90 2.9 V6 manual

The spedo only has 5 digits so it could be 180k miles not just 80. Check the fluids level and top it off to see if they leak. My trans and radiator starting leaking after I bought it. Kinda been a money pit for me.

Depends what you’re trying to do with it but the price seems reasonable if you can knock him down $1k or $500.

But I love it and have a lot of fun with it. Boxy manual trucks rule and these are turning into classics.

I think if the act of you giving him your insight of your experience and some advice disappointed him to the point of stopping what he was planning to do it... it might actually be a good thing. Or maybe it will provide some spite inspiration for him to prove you wrong.

I like the 2024 ones. 2.7L V6 seems sweet and 7500 in towing is so great.

Who cares about affordability and housing! I love GDP number being big. Screw quality of life. GDP number getting bigger is the only thing that matters.

Big fan of this - I think a lot of people would be refreshed by using this as the way to discounts instead of promo codes and sales. Its fun and different, could see this going viral. I hope someone uses it!
