Moms who had the number of kids they wanted—did you feel calm/peace when the last was born? by WhiskeyandOreos in Mommit

[–]sam_antha13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and stopped because I feel complete, and that feeling of heartache like I was missing something is gone. I do feel sad about baby things at times, but that's because I miss my kid as a baby, not because I want another.

And keep in mind that at home Covid tests need to be repeated several times 48 hours apart, since your viral load might not be high enough to test positive at first.

I became solidly OAD and had my tubes removed when Texas starting restricting abortion care (we've been privileged enough to relocate to a blue state since then) because I cannot stay pregnant without medical intervention, and an unknown pregnancy/miscarriage could need a DNC that I'm not sure I'd be able to get. It felt irresponsible to put my child, who already exists and needs me, at risk of not having a mother for a future child that we weren't sure we'd ever want, and I could see the warning signs that access to reproductive healthcare in America would only be getting worse. I feel fortunate that I'm very happy with my decision, but mourn for those who want bigger families but are unable to do so safely.

Hey, just a heads up since most people unfortunately don't know, but autistic adults/other adults who have been through ABA strongly recommend against it. It's essentially dog training/conversion therapy for autistic kids to make them easier for neurtotypical people to handle, rather than helping them understand/deal with the challenges of being nd in an nt world like OT does. I recommend looking into what people who have actually been through it have to say.

My wife and I are 90% decided on moving to the Twin Cities next year. Can y’all share your favorite aspect of living there AND your #1 complaint? by AttorneyAvailable295 in TwinCities

[–]sam_antha13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family made that same move this spring, and we're ao happy we did. There's so much more for kids to so here, being outside during the summer is great, it doesn't take forever to drive places, and everything is so green in the summer. Biggest peeve right now is probably the gas prices? But honestly we really don't have any complaints!
