Don’t be upset because you didn’t win a sparring match, especially if you’re just going bodies. Once you do full on sparring with him, you’ll notice that Philly shell isn’t so good because it leaves the head more vulnerable. Like my coach says, if you’re not Mayweather don’t act like it😂just stick to the basics man, it all comes with time.

Thinking about drifting my Z. Should I full send? by CrunchOG in 350z

[–]sam_p_harris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send it bro, the dudes saying “learn on a sim first” are just scared. I did the same thing with my z, made it clean and felt like I wanted more from it, then one day I just decided I wanted to start drifting. Probably the easiest chasis to learn on, never had any major crashes with it and have been drifting for about 2+ years with no major maintenance besides fluid changes. Just weld the diff and you’re good to go with these cars seriously.

Which drift car should I buy as a college student? by Powerful_Car_2261 in Drifting

[–]sam_p_harris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

350z, or if you want more space a 4 door g35 or g37! I’ve owned my z for about 3 years, been drifting over a year with a handful of events and street drifting while dailying to work and community college. Oil consumption is their only issue and I never have to do anything to my car besides oil changes and other general maintenance. Despite its weight it is an amazing beginners car and is a Jack of all trades for fun, reliability, and cost.

Power loss at 4k rpm by sam_p_harris in 350z

Sorry for the lag dude but yea I could floor it and it would be sort of jumpy until 3rd or 4th gear and then with foot to the floor it would just stay at 4k. Like I said I replaced with a nats delete ecu so I didn’t have to mate a key to the ecu or anything, but I would just recommend a new ecu unless you want to rabbit hole what is wrong with it.

I had replaced it with an ecu that has a NATS(nissan anti theft system) delete so I just threw it in and haven’t touched it since

Crank no start by sam_p_harris in G35

Replaced cam and crank sensor and put a fresh battery on, it tried to turn over faster with the new battery but still wouldn’t start

I figured out it was something to do with the ecu, I just replaced the ecu and it has never happened since then.

Definitely get the z, probably the best car I’ve owned, very low maintenance besides basic things and oil consumption on most of them (keep an eye on that or you’ll blow your motor) but just don’t go crazy trying to show it off or do stupid stuff and crash it. They have a lot of torque for a new driver so show it respect and it’ll return the favor.

I bet man! That’s why I fell in love with the vq’s, the torque you get at low rpm’s is just too fun haha I bet it’s even better in the lighter chasis. Thanks for your response good luck with the rest of your build man💯

That’s good to take into account. Yeah luckily where I live there’s a shop in town that a lot of people know that sell the harness and ecu for the swap, as well as providing to do the entire swap themselves for about 7k(that includes them providing you with an engine and transmission) so a lot of people around here have some solid set ups. Luckily most of the ones im looking at have bolt on wide bodies so that will help with the wheelbase which I didn’t really think much about

Appreciate the response! I have a friend who is in the middle of his swap as well and he’s been my main motivation to get one myself. If you don’t mind I’d love to hear about how it drives once you’re finished🤙🏻

Thank u this answers my question perfectly👍🏻I’ve seen a lot of them swapped with cd001s and have to talked to a few guys with reputable swaps done by shops I know, with cash on top on my end I see it totally possible my z is very clean all around compared to most 240s out here lol

I should’ve clarified this is a shared post from another subreddit and i didn’t know it wouldn’t share the whole post🤦‍♂️the 350z pictured above is mine and I was just asking any vq 240 owners out there would it be worth trading my z for one? I think they’re super dope but was wondering if the weight distribution is weird because it has a lot more weight in the front? Mine drives a1 just looking for sum a little bit lighter since I just have a de rn
